The mountain biking and trail running across the property is varied, diverse and it is amazing. It caters for all levels of riding and running. Lindani is not all that well-known, so we hope that more people will discover the delights! The effort into marking the trails and routes is one of the biggest pleasures of riding there. One can use Trail Forks, but it is not necessary in order to find your way around. However, the trails are very well documented on Trial Forks as well so you can mix and match ride and find shortcuts when you need to.|The flood water damage repair is very appreciated as without the bridges it would not be ridable. The areas where rocks are packed to mark the route and concrete has been used to fill in the more difficult rocky areas, gives a sense of comfort that it’s ridable and you don’t have to stop to look at the obstacles before riding them. The property is big enough to ride 70kms without repeating the same areas over and over again. While riding the game viewing and the birdlife is such a treat and remarkable. The reserve feels alive with wildlife, and one sees very few other people around, so you feel that you have the place to yourselves. The picnic spots are a wonderful place to meet for drinks and snacks with the non-riders and non-runners or for after activity relaxing.| |The small touches that made us feel welcome like the towels folded like swans with petals around them, fresh cut flowers on the table, the loo paper folded into a wild dog, the firewood, the ice in the deep-freeze and the lovely little Lindani soaps.|The information file and the trail maps were a fantastic source of information and conducive to making the stay easy and the trails descriptions were really great to get an idea of where to ride.|The small things that make life easier for travellers: paper towel, a full salt cellar, the coffee plunger, hangers in the cupboards, washing line with pegs for washing active wear, extra blankets for the cold.|The kitchen was well appointed and there is a big deep freeze which helps so much for frozen food and ice. Read moreWe enjoyed our stay at Lindani ( Skebenga ) . The house is comfortable , clean and spacious. We did have some issues such as : 1) communication not that good - we were under the impression that the fireplace , gas braai grid and braai area would be cleaned daily even though it is self catering ( this was included at all the other places we have been ) however it wasn't and one would have to pay R200 for this service which we presumed would be included in the daily tariff . I don't know how they can expect old people to clean the above mentioned 2) There was only one steak knife ( all other knives were very blunt and it was difficult to eat steak ) 3) Files in the unit should be updated- self drive roads are also not indicated - only trails and MNT bike routes etc. The Bush camping area for own tents or motor homes were not indicated on the maps. We only found the Bush cottage and tented camp. 4) It was my birthday and I looked forward to being able to order food from the kitchen. Maria sent me the order forms a week before we were to arrive and it took me some time to complete it for every day . However a few days before we left I was informed that the kitchen would be closed for us as they were having a MNT bike rally and were preparing for that. ( That doesn't make sense to me as I would think that they would still give us the option of ordering meals or goodies they were preparing for the race . ) This was disappointing. 5) The inside fireplace needs to be serviced or replaced as it didn't work properly and we had to sit very close to it as it was very cold at night and then we had to clean it ourselves. Johannes was very friendly and came to replace the gas bottle which was empty, when we contacted him . He spoke fluent Afrikaans and made us feel very welcome. People booking Sebenga should note that it is totally secluded and on its own and walking is restricted to a fairly small area as it has the buffalo camp surrounding it . One needs to enter gate 2 for walking...
