Pumula Game Farm — Hotel in Modimolle Local Municipality

What a gem! Pumula Game Farm , nestled just outside Bela Bela and a world away from the hustle of Pretoria, truly lives up to its name. Our six-sleeper unit was an absolute haven – incredibly spacious and so spotlessly clean! The fact that our accommodation also boasted a lovely private pool was a definite bonus! We especially loved the fantastic outdoor amenities. Evenings were spent enjoying the braai and boma under the stars, and the beautiful outdoor shower added a touch of luxury and a unique connection with nature. Inside, the thoughtful hosts provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay, including a great selection of board games and a TV with DStv. The game viewing on the farm was a highlight! We were thrilled to spot kudu, nyala, wildebeest, blessbok, zebra, and impala during our excursions(either by foot on a lovely walking trail or by diet road). For those who enjoy angling, we managed to land some nice kurper from the farm dam. We also appreciated the nice shed and restroom facilities conveniently located right by the dam, perfect for a braai down by the water. What truly made our stay special, though, was the warm and welcoming hospitality of the hosts. They were so friendly and made us feel right at home. Whist the venue was adequate I feel the experience left a bad taste in our mouth. Aside from the continuous blackouts we were advised that bedding and towels will be changed after a few days, this was not done. Problems with the gas heater or no gas meant we had cold showers for the last three days - we did ask the owner to show us when we complained but that was not forthcoming. Whilst we paid R3500 deposit no inspection was done to verify the assets and condition of the chalets. After we left we were informed that a single mattress was damaged (taking into account we have no children with us) and that we will be forfeiting our deposit. We have many correspondence, even us suggesting that we be paid half of our deposit as the mattress was old, the owner refused. She suggested that she will escalate to Lekker Slaap but this was not done. We even researched the price of replacement and it was a whole R1000 cheaper. Met Marchelle, the new owner, what an amazing lady. Beautiful bush senery with the silence that's deafining. Very relaxing and beautiful trails to walk. Love the splash pool area at house Thulile. Such a beautiful little place. Romantic bathroom, very comfortable and good layout. It is really a place to unwind and find your soul. The only time you need a phone is to take photo's of the sunrise, sun set and the moon dancing through the leaves. Absolutly love it! Very clean that is very impressive! A must do, just 11km away is the Cheetha Experience. Loads to learn and you will appeciate wild life again if you see how well the cats are looked after.
