The camp is a piece of Paradise. To get from the main road to the camp however is a bit cumbersome. We have been told that their are plans to change the entrance in order to get to "paradise"quicker which I think would be an improvement. The central point of the camp is "the Nest". A very attractive open plan space with a magnificent view over the lake where one can relax in an atmosphere which was so aptly portrayed in the movie "Out of Africa" The camp consists of 4 very spacious canvas tents with a proper covered patio. Our tent was called : "Eagles Nest" which had a fantastic view over the lake. The amenities were clean and in good working order. The bed was very comfortable. At night the chef , who together with his wife and an assistant, will prepare the food which you have brought. A proper fire is lit to reminisce about other good times. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were treated to a breakfast at a viewing point as well as one in the boat house. Again a very pleasant surprise to show the hospitality which is at the camp in abundance. Matla Noka is a place to relax, read a book, lazy about and if that is your fancy go fishing or just exploring the lake on a paddle boat.
