ZERO COVID PROTOCOL!!!! Whilst the hotel represents an expectation of a ‘high standard’, it is a total opposite experience.
Firstly, when walking, the pool which is the first thing you see, is completely green. I would t dare jump in, what a shame.
Secondly, I walked in all over the show without even being asked to sanitize or even seeing other people/guests sanitizing themselves, this is surely against complete protocol considering th pandemic at hand.
Thirdly, we had to essentially almost beg to get any one to serve us timeously when walking into the restaurant.
I could go go on about more points, we came on a weekend, and half the drinks we wanted to order are out of stock. How can a hotel, specifically a boutique hotel, which should be of a ‘considerably high standard, not have champagne, beers and other drinks in stock?! This is actually beyond ridiculous.
Thereafter, there is ZERO AMBIENCE within the restaurant/pool deck area. We asked the managers several times to put music on in the background, and he literally put it in for not even one song, and then switched it off. How can you as a hotel expect to entertain guests and serve a restaurant without a certain ambience?!
The food, was for the lack of a better word, horrible. My steak came well done, and I asked for medium rare. The potatoes of all 4 of ours dishes, came uncooked, RARE!!!!! The vegetables, honestly, I might as well have boiled a kettle, poured the hot water over the vegetables, Waite a few minutes, and then serve it cold and unsalted. All 4 of our dishes came completely opposite to our requests.
We even looked at the tables around us, and I feel sorry for the people who are too shy to complain to the restaurant and managers, and we only saw disappointed faces around, it’s a pitty they aren’t brave enough to voice their opinions.
No MASKS ANYWHERE. Let alone they allow people, to come in at a DINNER SERVICE, to come in shirtless and shoeless at a boutique hotel dinner service, it is shocking.
I could go on about this place, but it’s probably best to pack a tent, park outside the ‘bru houseM and stay there for...

First of all I would like to compliment the staff, everyone was so delightfully friendly and helpful, from the conceirge to the barman to the waiters. Everything we asked for was no trouble at all.
This is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
There are scenic views all round, from the pool area to your room. What a treat and delight. We unexpectedly saw zebra and buck in the property adjacent to where the museum is when we did an afternoon walk.
The room was clean. We stayed in room 110 and the king size bed was so delightfully comfortable.
Wifi signal was poor in our room and they need more vegetarian food options as there are only two on the menu so you eating the same meals if you there for a few days.
The first day we were there the breakfast was just okay but the second day it was great.
But honestly, this didn't detract from the experience for me. The staff's willingness to assist and accommodate is what made it all exceptional.
Go, stay in room 110, remember yo take an adapter to charge your...
Read moreI visited the hotel beginning of February and I must say I had an amazing time. The stuff were so friendly and helpful. I got lost going there but they kept calling hours for hours and making sure I got there safe . When I arrived the restuarant had already closed but they were so kind hearted to get a meal prepared for me for me for free after i cried from hunger . I had only landed in Joburg at noon and I had not eaten anything ( Thank you Selo ) The room were so clean and the view in the morning was to die for . I made friends with most of the stuff and they are forever smiling and willing to help. I really had an amazing time and I would go back anyday. Im upset I cannot remember all the staff names but they made me feel at home . I would definitely recommend staying at...
