Honestly, its not worth it. The wifi doesn't work. I even called the lady at the front desk and she told me she didnt get any other complaints about it.
Let me start with the location. 5 stars. I love the springboks walking around. I love the self help chalets. I love the bench where you can sit and relax. Each chalet has a braai so that was lovely. I love the shaded port for your car as Vryburg was very very hot. The pool was perfect temperature. Not too hot or too cold. But thats where the good stuff stops.
I met guests in the pool who have been staying there for a while for work and they also told me the same story about the wifi. Cell signal in Vryburg is also non existent so don't go with the mind set to get work done.
The rooms. They were okayish. I was not a fan of the ants everywhere, especially not in my bed. The pillows were very flat. Oh and it was two single beds pushed together...not a fan of that either. The towels were very used and one had a stain on which was ehhh not to great.
The tiny kitchennette was lovely. There was coffee and tea and sugar and milk available. I loved the cold water in the fridge as well.
Breakfast was okay. It was cereal, yogurt, bacon, eggs and toast. Nothing fancy really.
Overall I dont think I will stay here again just because the reception lady seems to obliviously ignore anything I said about the wifi. Like she could have told me rather when I checked in sorry our wifi is not working and it would have been totally fine.
This was my experience so I wouldn't stay here again, but the choice is...
Read moreThe establishment on paper looks good on paper but the mistreatment we received last week when we were attending my sister's wedding.I would not recommend it at all, particularly for black people. We check-in on Friday afternoon which was fine. In the evening of the same day, a group of us waited near the reception with about 5 cars or so. We all had checked-in in our various rooms with our individual room keys in our possession. The receptionist came to us rudely and in a condescending racist tone asking us whether we had a permit to gather near the gate and said we were not allowed to party near reception.
Mind you, all of the people that there were allowed in by them as you can only enter using an intercom then they open the gate so you can enter the premises. We confronted the lady at we gave her a mouthful which necessitated us to speak with the owners.
Secondly, on the Saturday afternoon my sister had booked tone of their halls from 2 pm until 10 pm. At around about 9 pm , one white lady was already closing down the venue by locking up and she also touched someone's bottle. I found her behaviour quite rude and appalling particularly so when we had an hour left at the venue. I don't think this is how any establishment should treat its guests that have paid to at their lodge. I would look elsewhere for a place to reside in Vryburg.
Don't waste your money on this place they don't treat their guests with the requisite respect and dignity. Their conduct left much...
Read moreI stayed here for one night in October 2013 on my way back from the Orange River towards Jo'burg. It was just what I was wanting. It was just on the outskirts of town on the main highway but was set back from the road aways so it was nice and quiet and very restful. ||||Upon checking in I was greeted by both the friendly staff and the friendly four legged grounds keeper 'Pumba' the Warthog. The room was well appointed, clean and very well maintained. ||||After having a quick shower I was surprised by a knocking on the door and it turned out to be Pumba again checking in on my well being and possibly the whereabouts of any snacks? Very cute. ||||No meals provided/available but it's a short drive into town where you can get all sorts of food. Basic breakfast/snack provided. ||||I enjoyed my stay and would...
