Jakkalswater Guest Farm — Hotel in Nama Khoi Local Municipality

Having stayed at Jakkalswater for a month, I can only say good things about the farm and the unending care and attention that Reinhart and his staff showed.

Jakkalswater Farm is situation in the dramatic landscape of Springbok, which, during the month of August and September, erupts in stunning colours as the wild flowers emerge. To our great surprise, we didn't even have to leave the farm to see these flowers, they were literally outside our front door!

The accommodation itself was just perfect for our needs; a private bathroom, private kitchen and even our own braai. There was wifi in the rooms and there was even the option for laundry at a minor additional expense. We really couldn't have been happier.

Last, but not least, there is the icon of Jakkalswater, Turbo, a sweet kindly little donkey, who we always gave a leftover carrot to. We hope to be back sometime soon to give Turbo a pat once again.

Did like:||Very nice owner. She gave us more rooms than we booked for the same price (to make our stay more comfortable as we traveled in a big group). Rooms are spacy and have everything you may need. Amazing place, beautiful nature and nothing around. Great stop during a long trip. ||Did not like: ||Terrible, awful, unbelievable quantity of mosquitoes! There were no mosquito nets neither on the windows, no above the bed. There is no aircon or fan as well, so you have 2 options: 1. don't sleep because of mosquitoes (but breath with open windows), 2. don't sleep because windows are closed and there is nothing to breath with. In this case, you should first kill all the mosquitoes inside with spirals or...

We held a family celebration over a weekend in July. Amanda and her team at Jakkalswater Guest Farm pulled out all the stops to make it a weekend to remember- an expertly arranged barbeque on the first night, and formal dinner on the second evening. The mushroom soup, oxtail stew and malva pudding was fantastic, however the hospitality, patience and professionalism of the staff made all the difference. We enjoyed everything about the experience -the beautiful surroundings, the comfortable accommodation and relaxing atmosphere.
