We love the Drakensberg, unfortunately the accommodation here was gross and filthy. Cockroaches lying dead around and big live ones.Big spiders and spider webs under our pillows, on the bed, walls ,ceilings. Lounge light was full of dust. The chalet definitely could not have been cleaned as it was dusty and had dead cockoaches lying around. For a location of such beauty this place really needs to up their game and sort these issues out . We did not feel comfortable to sleep at all or even eat. Microwave outdated and rusty so was the oven. The curtains filthy and looks at least 20 years old to be honest. The response we received was that spiders and spider webs are part of it and once they dust and clean they back the next day. This is not the issue with the resorts next door which we have stayed at before so this is obviously not true. The chalet needs to be fumigated and in urgent need of renovations. The Parking lot shade net is Sagging and the parking is extremely tight you got to get passengers to jump out before parking.
Location lovely.Hot water was good. The games room no one told us that we need to switch the air hockey game on neither was there a board or sign stating us to do so we couldn't play .
The upstairs was full full of 🕷. Did not feel comfortable to use the cupboards either as they looked dirty and ofcause extremely old and ugly. Pictures...

We’ve stayed at many places in the area and understand spiders are common, but nothing prepared us for the state of this chalet. It was filthy on arrival—dusty, stale air, dead moths on the curtains, cobwebs everywhere, and an infestation of spiders and cockroaches. It was clear no effort was made to clean or prepare the chalet for guests.
The carpets were old and grimy, the furniture worn out, and everything felt unclean. We were so uncomfortable, we didn't even use the cutlery or crockery.
The outside may look nice, and we didn’t run out of hot water, but that’s where the positives end. The receptionist was dismissive when we raised our concerns. This was meant to be a relaxing holiday—instead, it was stressful and unpleasant.
Definitely not a place I...
Read moreLovely surroundings and could be a super place to stay with a bit of attention to detail. We go to the Drakensberg to enjoy the mountains and to have peace and quiet away from city noise disturbances. We do not come to endure duff-duff music at any time, or any other type of noise nuisance by humans after 10pm. The Manager was very rude when approached concerning the issue of noise, stated guests could make as much noise as they like until 10pm as they had the "right to enjoy themselves" and then slammed the door in my face, thereafter suggesting we leave. The Manager needs conflict resolution training and is now probably to old to handle her job. We're...
