I have seen many photos of Spion Kop Lodge; but when you see the property for yourself you will be amazed. The views are beautiful. Rooms are a mix of modern and classic twist; very nice and cosy with cute touches like a hot water bottle in your room at night. The main building has a cosy bar and a Restaurant with stunning bush views. The food is delicious and home cooked. We had steak for dinner, and it was out of this world; the breakfast was also tasty and freshly prepared. Staff are very friendly. The game drive is a must book. This game reserve is beautiful and quiet; nature at its best. The Spion Kop Dam is in the middle of the reserve; we walked on the dam wall and the views are stunning. The game drive was lovely, and we saw many animals while spending the best time outside. Thanks to Alistair for all the interesting info. The Battlefield tours are also recommended. I am not someone that loves history; but the way Raymond told the stories were engaging and I really enjoyed learning more. You are transported back to another time and he paints pictures of how people’s lives were years ago. Thanks to the team, we had a wonderful stay!

Here at Spionkop Lodge it is peaceful and quiet. The views, especially sunset, are breathtaking. The pool is great for cooling off, and the bar will serve something cold to relax you even further. The service is fantastic - the staff members are friendly and warm, anticipate your needs and are always ready to assist while still respecting your privacy. The food is to die for. Hiking trails lovely with plenty of birds for the birdwatching enthusiast. The diverse bird-sounds just add to the tranquility of it all. I think what I love most about Spionkop Lodge is that it is not commercialised and has none of the commercialised nonsense. If you are looking to truly relax and enjoy nature, peace and quiet, this is the place. Take note though that the rooms do not have a fridge or desk. So don't bring food ajd drinks. Buy it here. And it is nore of a relax space than work space, although I did get plenty work done with a beautiful view to top it all

Great farm life accomodation, with the stone walled bungalows available. Restaurant facilities also available, if organise ahead and swimming pool to boot as well. The battlefield tour experience was a memorable one, made special by Alistar with his subject knowledge and humour. Would highly recommend this for amateur to serious history boffins. Don't forget a can of fly spray though as this is a working dairy farm but that all added to our experience!!!
