This was hotel 13 of 14 in a 4,5 weeks holiday in ZA - and it was the worst place where we stayed. The staff was very friendly but had to call the head office for each and everything (where is it if not on site?):||- It took 45 minutes till we got a room close to what we booked: at first we were given a standard room where condensation water was running down the walls, and the small door to the ceiling-less bathroom gave full view to the lavatory. ||- The 2nd room was a suite but no one could tell us, if this is what we booked or if we might have to pay more. Also still the problem with the bathroom.||- Old women in aprons were supposed to bring our luggage to the room - no way!||- The doors to the bathrooms are saloon-style (see picture). If you're lucky you can watch and smell your partner being busy on the lavatory. Also the bathrooms have no ceiling - next chance to get a full dose...||- Water-tap wrong connected: hot is cold and cold is hot||- No dustbin in the bathroom||- Room not clean: dirty floor (tiles and carpets) and parts of electrician works left all over||- Small dinner buffet included in the rate. You have 3 options to choose from while women behind the buffet are watching you carefully what you take or not (like in prison). ||- Chicken wings not well done but still bloody (no way!). 4-5 sauces available, but no mustard.||- Wine glasses still having the price tags on||- Dessert only available upon request ||- Breakfast options are as less as the dinner was: sweetened cereals (no, i don't want to eat that even if you ask me to), 1 cheese, 1 ham, fruit salad, yogurt, eggs sunny side up on toast, boereworst, mince, baked beans, toast. 1 butter and 3 marmalades on the table - for 2.||This hotel looks like to be under management of a cooperative of local women. Which we wouldn't mind. But it is not a 4 star accommodation. Compared to the 3 star hotel the night before (wonderful food in a deserted area, very good service and nice rooms), this was just basic in everything except the high room rate. The setting of the hotel is wonderful and the staff friendly, but if you take a close look at the hotel, nothing fits. Sorry, but I'd really like to know what they did to...

N'taba Lodge is not a 4-star lodge. We went there for 3 nights and were very disappointed with the experience we had.

N'taba lodge needs to update their website asap as it is very misleading and lacks essential information. It almost appears as 'bait marketing' - what you see is not what you get. Nowhere on their site do they mention that guests are not allowed to bring their own refreshments and food. Only once you arrive do they force you to read a T's and C's document and sign it.

Nothing about this lodge is 4-star. Our bedsheets were dirty / sandy. The rooms smell moldy. The showerhead in the bathroom didn't work properly and the shower had a leak. The hair dryer and bedside lamps did not work properly at all. Overall it seems that there is a major lack of maintenance.

The lodge does not provide any facilities to warm/cook/prepare any food at all. There are no braai facilities (also not mentioned to you when you book and is not on their website) and all guests are 'encouraged' to support the restaurant at the lodge. The downside to the restaurant is that it closes at 10am after breakfast and only opens again at 4pm -9pm. The food is average, menu limited, and all items are grossly overpriced.

We booked Spa treatments and on the day of our treatments one of the therapists didn't show. Management/the owners had no idea and we as guests had to inform them that they were short staffed. One of the owners jumped in to rectify the situation by standing in for the missing staff member. Although that was much appreciated, the matter was handled very unprofessionally.

The lodge is very quiet and the gardens and views are breathtaking. This is a very tranquil place within a great location, but sadly lacks maintenance and an...

I am really not impressed with the service i received from this resort.I am shocked that tourism grading council gave them 4 stars.First of all the manager is rude and was never there once in the two weeks my team stayed there. She operates from Durban.||There is no wifi ,the rooms are small and we were plunged into darkness for almost 3 days first week when they have a generator on site.Excuse after excuse about generator, imaging been served dinner with a candle for 3 nights as u could not get your generator running.I accept there was load shedding and power cuts but then the rooms have no proper ventilation and the showers dont work.I appreciate that the they upgraded me to a better room after i complained as i had no work space.I refused to stay there the following week and my guys went back with the same issues.I asked my company to book me elsewhere.|| Unfortunately this week another agent from my company tried to book me in the same place not knowing what had happened and the manager refused to take the booking saying i was rude to her staff and wont allow me back and made some real bad allegations that i am wanted no where.I called her a few times she put the phone down in my ear each time, and they simply refused to give me the owners number, to make him aware of what had happened.I want an apology letter from the manager to my company for making false allegations .Is this is the way you treat all your clients.I think the tourism grading council needs to come and reassess their 4 star rating they gave the venue, they will be shocked.||Poor service , food average, smelly rooms, no wifi, bad water pressure,no...

Great service, great people, management regularly engages with clients whenever an opportunity arises. We had a marvelous stay for our 9th wedding anniversary ❤️. They prepared for us a romantic dinner and gave us a guard of honor when we walked into the dining area. 🍽

It's a beautiful location situated in between a river and a small mountain. The rooms are neat and tidy. The gardens and stunning and well-kept. Their breakfast is a standard continental and they make the best scones. I'm not a fan of their chicken wings.
