Motswiri Private Safari Lodge — Hotel in Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality

We have just returned from staying at this beautiful lodge for 5 nights and what an experience we had. From start to finish we were well looked after. There are only 6 lodges in Motswiri so feels a little exclusive. ||The only negative I have is the 3rd bed is a camp bed which was fine for my 12 year old but anyone a little bigger may find this uncomfortable. ||However the positives far outweighed this small little negative. |Massive shout out to our guide/ranger/fountain of all knowledge Barry. He took off-roading to a new level and due to his sheer determination, within the first day we had seen 4 of the big 5! That damn elusive leopard never showed although we did see the antelope it stored up a tree but not sure that counts. Barry is part of the reason this trip was so special. ||I held my breath being so close to the big cats - there seemed to be a mutual respect between the guides in their trucks and these beautiful animals. I liked that the other lodges kept their distance until it was their turn so the animals were never crowded. I am not sure if this happens at other reserves.||I wanted this to be a trip of a lifetime for my special birthday and it really was. Yes there is a price tag to stay but this is money I will never regret spending. The staff there love their job and it showed (what is not to love) and could not do enough for you. Big thanks to Stoney who ALWAYS had a huge smile on his face.||There are too many favourite moments to mention but one has to be after breakfast sitting by the watering hole watching 20+ elephants just a few yards away drinking, cooling down and playing for a couple of hours. ||Food is amazing and you can never go hungry. Being full board I brought snacks just in case but we did not need them and drinks are priced reasonably.||The game drive in the early morning was cold so if you do come in the Winter bring your layers and something to cover your face. It warmed up to the 20s by mid morning but 6.30am is cold. The blankets and hot water bottles as you set off and hot flannels when we arrived back were nice gestures.||We felt very privileged to be up so close to animals in their natural surroundings and I don't think I could ever visit a zoo again. I could write so much more - I have so many photos now to look through and memories that will last...

Our family just spent the most amazing week at the Motswiri Private Safari Lodge! The Motswiri team quickly showed us that going on Safari can be so much more than just the game drives! They provided an experience from morning to night that far exceeded our expectations and embraced us as part of their Motswiri family. The staff were amazing! They provided blankets and hot water bottles for each of the chilly morning game drives, met us with welcoming smiles, and cold or hot towels when we returned. They learned our names, our food/drink preferences, addressed my dairy allergy with seamless ease, served amazing meals, and had toasty fires lit in each of our 4 cabins every night after dinner. They also helped us celebrate a birthday with a surprise champagne celebration during our morning drive and a beautiful cake after dinner with the staff singing African songs - it still gives me chills! Let’s not forget the game drives! Truly stunning! We saw an abundance of beautiful animals including the Big 5 and more! Bill catered our drives to match our interests and wasn’t afraid to go offroad to provide that perfect photo op! He provided so much information throughout the various drives and got us close to the amazing animals - all while keeping us safe! The morning coffee/tea and afternoon beverage stops were perfectly timed and gave us an opportunity to chat more with Bill and learn so much! Everything I’ve described above is a true reflection of Bill and Amy’s leadership. They have great knowledge, culinary backgrounds, and a passion for providing an incredible experience for their guests and making everyone feel welcome! They have used their experience and influence to make positive changes to the Motswiri operation (i.e eliminating plastic bottles throughout). They are filled with new ideas, we can’t wait to see what changes they come up with next!

Il Motswiri Private Safari Lodge rappresenta senza alcun dubbio una delle migliori strutture della riserva naturale di Madikwe. Ho soggiornato al Motswiri dall'8 all'11 gennaio 2016 ed è stata un'esperienza da sogno, emozionante, ricca di momenti unici e irripetibili che resteranno per sempre nel mio cuore. |In primo luogo la bellezza della struttura, immersa al centro del parco, molto esclusiva e raffinata, composta da sole cinque ville lussuosissime col tetto di paglia, ognuna sapientemente ubicata lontana dalle altre per garantire privacy e assoluta tranquillità agli ospiti e ciascuna con un grandissimo deck, fornito di lettini, affacciato direttamente sul bush dal quale poter ammirare uno splendido panorama e una quantità infinita di animali: uno spettacolo senza fine di zebre, rinoceronti, bufali, elefanti,giraffe e antilopi, da osservare increduli mentre siete comodamente sdraiati sulle chaise-longue del vostro terrazzo! Le luxury villas sono enormi, risplendenti per la pulizia, la camera da letto spaziale con letto a baldacchino, zanzariera, ventilatore, aria condizionata e una superba sequenza di grandi pareti vetrate che vi faranno sentire in comunione totale con la natura circostante. Zona giorno raffinata, con un bellissimo camino e un comodo divano su cui rilassarsi, immersi in morbidi cuscini, estremamente calda ed accogliente, elegantemente arredata e fornita di tutto l'occorrente per la preparazione di bevande calde. Salle de bain spaziosissima, con doppi lavabo, toilette separata, enorme vasca da bagno incastonata da ampie finestre con vista sulla savana e anche qui uno splendido camino che unitamente ai sali da bagno, alle candele e ai prodotti offerti per la pulizia personale di altissima qualità vi garantiranno momenti di relax assolutamente romantici e piacevolissimi. Meravigliosa anche la grandissima doccia esterna: assolutamente da provare l'emozione di essere nudi e completamente indifesi nel bel mezzo del bush, sentendosi parte del selvaggio paesaggio circostante e in armonia con la natura.|Colazione pranzo e cena sono inclusi e serviti nella grande capanna centrale, o sul vastissimo terrazzo all'aperto o nella sala comune: cibo ottimo, abbondante, molto curato, vario, di altissima qualità e perfettamente presentato, grande attenzione alle esigenze dei clienti, ai quali vengono sempre offerte diverse tipologie di menù e portate per soddisfare al meglio le singole esigenze. Nella zona comune sono ubicati anche un grande bar, diverse zone salotto molto intime e confortevoli, la reception, una piscina dalla forma sinuosa con lettini prendisole ed asciugamani e un pontile in legno, affacciato su una pozza d'acqua che rappresenta un richiamo naturale per tantissimi animali.|Servizio molto professionale, assolutamente degno dei migliori cinque stelle; attento, cortese e disponibile tutto il personale, discreto, ma sempre presente e soprattutto efficientissimo. Ringrazio sentitamente i camerieri e tutto lo staff per averci coccolato e riservato attenzioni premurose durante tutto il soggiorno e dedichiamo una menzione particolare agli addetti alle camere: il cioccolatino e la poesia che ogni sera abbiamo trovato sui cuscini sono stati la ciliegina sulla torta al termine di ogni bellissima giornata trascorsa nella vostra splendida struttura.|Assolutamente da evidenziare i due safari giornalieri che ci hanno condotto in affascinanti ecosistemi diversi, tutti bellissimi e ricchissimi di animali. Il Ranger, preparatissimo e molto disponibile, si è prodigato come non mai per farci conoscere a fondo le peculiarità della riserva e per trovare quanti più animali possibile: abbiamo visto già col primo safari tutti i big five e in tre giorni abbiamo avvistato una quantità tale di felini mai raggiunta in tutta la nostra vita! Interessanti anche le indicazioni sulla flora e sulle piante officinali, davvero istruttive.|Sicuramente sto dimenticando mille altri aspetti positivi da segnalare, ma vi assicuro che è realmente impossibile enumerarli tutti, vista la ricchezza e l'intensita' delle emozioni vissute! |Consigliato veramente a tutti coloro che desiderano regalarsi una vacanza non solo di charme, ma soprattutto in grado di toccare l'anima e il cuore in modo profondo e...
