We visited the Oaks for lunch on a Sunday for a family members birthday. What an absolute rip off. We were not asked when booking if we would like a pub lunch or a 3 course Sunday lunch. When we arrived we asked if we could have the pub lunch and were told that the chef had already cooked. We received our lunch, which consisted of a very tough roast beef, 2 potatoes (Not even 2 whole potatoes), a small bit of creamed spinach and butternut. Starter was a carrot and ginger soup and dessert was what one could only describe as scrambled egg disguised as a creme Brulee. This at a cost of R280 per person. I work at a 4 start hotel and our buffet costs R285 per person and you get a choice of 4 salads, soup and rolls and various starters, 4 mains and sides and 4 desserts. For a hotel that at best could be a 2 star, this is an absolute rip off. The Richmond Country Club offers a far better Sunday lunch at a much better rate. Will never eat at the Oaks again or...

All I wanted was a coke and the response I was met with, with my 4 year old toddler was "unfortunately we don't accept day visitors and therefore won't be able to serve you and your child a drink" this is horrific management from someone in the hospitality industry and the manager needs a serious lesson on how to treat prospective guests, if I had a friendly welcome from the manager, ofcourse I would have stayed a few nights and would be keen to return back but absolutely would never stay here after my experience. I felt so unwelcome I sat with my child outside the entrance gates, rather that than be in a place I felt so guilty being at. Strange too as some of these reviews talk about their...
