We booked this based on the comment here on tripadvisor. ||||The place is hard to find, not the least because googlemaps gives you the wrong location. We came from Pilanesberg and the 55 km is an hour and 15 minute drive. We had to find the place in the dark which is almost impossible. ||||The gravelroad wasn't too good for our car en pretty long without further directions.||||At first they didn't open the gate for use. Later we were the welcome with the 2 dogs was nice. ||||The rooms were clean but old en worn down. We barely managed to heat it, it was freezing (not their fault). Luckily the price on arrival turned out 2/3 of the price they gave us on the internet. Luckily because even the price we payed was to much for what we got.||||The collective kitchen is a good idea, but every 3 minutes someone living there came looking if we were gone. Even though there was enough room and equipment for all of us. We didn't feel very welcome there. ||||With the directions given by them Pilanesberg was an hour away. On the way he drove past us and helped us taking the right turn.||||We concluded that Plianusberg was to far from this lodge. We should have taken something closer so you van enjoy more of this beautiful wildpark.||||Maybe in summer the grounds can make up for the...
Read moreWe booked 2 nights to stay at Hodge Podge for a work team retreat. On our first night 2 of our cabins were broken into. Some people used chairs to climb through the windows and stole cellphones, handbags, clothes and shoes (stuff to the value of about R40,000) .||Obviously we were concerned and instead of the owners of the property understanding the impact of what had happened they turned it around and tried to blame our team for stealing from ourselves. ||In truth the property is incredibly unsecured. One can easily step over the boundary fence, the cabins are not secured, there is insufficient lighting and there were no warnings to keep valuables locked in cars or on us.||We were then treated with terrible disrespect and rudeness by the owners. Eventually we got less than half of our money back, but left being blamed for the robbery and truly shocked at the terrible customer service...
Read moreSuch a peaceful getaway in the Bush next to a game farm. The cabins/chalets are lovely. Mine had 6 beds. ( 2x sets of bunk beds and two singles next to each other) a fridge. Microwave. A garden table with 6 chairs on the deck outside. A bathroom with a shower. The owner is so accommodating... offered me anything I needed and asked if there was anything else I may want each time they saw me. The staff are lovely too. Braai provided at each chalet. And there's a pool and a communal kitchen. Brauhaus nearby is lovely for lunch and Pilanesberg game reserve for game drives...
