I have been coming here for the last three years when I visit Johannesburg. It is the most peaceful and tranquil place and only 90 mins outside Jo'burg. The chalets are great and adequate for a short stay. The pool is always clean and crystal clear and very much needed in the heat of the day. Joanne , the manager, is fabulous and makes you feel so welcome it is like going home. The Magliesberg is a stunning area with so much to do, from hot air ballooning to game viewing and an area of huge open spaces and natural beauty. You can walk on the farm and see Giraffe, Zebra and large amounts of antelope. The hikes are easy and for the more adventurous you can climb the to the top of Intaba Thulilie, which means " peaceful mountain", a perfect name. It is in short a great place to unwind and recharge and a great base to explore the area. 10/10.

A comfortable stay here for 3 nights. One of several individual cabins, spaced apart, with views of the valley and with frequent game in a field just over the fence. The beds were comfortable, and the bedrooms were well heated for the winter months. While we were there it was quiet at night. Nice bathroom, small but adequate kitchenette, and a nice veranda with a braai setup below. Very friendly owner and the swimming pool is apparently a big hit in the warmer months. On our frequent walks we saw giraffe, impala, hartebeest, zebra, ostriches, and the occasional baboon. On one of our walks we were lucky enough to happen upon SIX giraffes, close up. We also hiked to the top of the nearby mountain for lunch, then along the top and back. That took about half a day. I recommend a good windbreaker in the colder months!

A place literally less than 2 hours away from Johannesburg. It's a quiet self-catering accommodation with braai facilities, swimming pool etc. The host is very kind and good communicator. You can go hiking there is a well marked route. You can also go mountain biking. You will see game along the way largely giraffes and buck. It's also a great spot to read, my favourite read at the time was @thosewhotravelmeetthrmselves
