When ever I came to Ficksburg I would choose this place without a doubt, however, the last stay here was very disappointing. Slept at the top floor for the first time and the walls are not soundproofed, you can literally hear clearly the person in the other room talking. The noise at night was loud from other guests. Waited for over 30 minutes at the restaurant to be served breakfast by a very unprofessional lady and breakfast was served without drinks ordered. And before all of these, called 2 times to make them aware that I will be arriving late the night of the check-in but on arrival, the person who opened was very rude and said he is not aware of my booking till he checked the book and found my name, did not even apologise. Being fully booked does not mean that your level of service should drop, this is the time where your service should be of high excellence👌. The Imperani Guest House was a delightful place to stay for a two night stopover in Ficksburg while we visited the amazing Sandstone Steam Railway nearby.||An array of rooms are set out around a swimming pool, bar/restaurant and car park within a secure compound. It has a quite lovely setting and is clearly a popular venue for local events. The bar is very reasonably priced with a really friendly team. ||My room was nicely laid out with a comfortable bed, desk and wardrobe. I really appreciated the electric blanket provided as the temperature dropped to -6 during our stay. The bathroom was the most compact I have seen in a long while, but perfectly adequate and most importantly had a ready supply of hot water.||If I had a choice of rooms, I would probably steer away from no. 11 which looks out on the car park on two sides and feels quite exposed - at times it almost feels like you are in...

If you need to spend a night in Ficksburg, the Imperani Guesthouse is worth what you pay for. The whole establishment is very neat. There are many well placed notices about water restrictions and other crucial information. The sandstone buildings are pretty.
