🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟||An Unforgettable Horseback Adventure at Moolmanshoek||||My friend and I had the most incredible weekend getaway at Moolmanshoek, and it was truly unlike anything we've ever experienced. We went there specifically for the horseback riding – and it exceeded every expectation.||||One of the absolute highlights was being guided by a well-known South African horseman who personally led us on the mountain trails. Under his expert guidance, we explored terrain that I never thought was possible on horseback – up and down steep mountain slopes, through remote and breathtaking areas that seemed untouched by humans. It truly felt like an adventure out of this world.||||Over the weekend, from Friday to Sunday, we spent a total of 10 hours in the saddle, covered 60 kilometers, and ascended and descended nearly 400 meters. Along the way, we encountered zebras, warthogs, eland, springbok, jackals – it was like riding through a living postcard. Moolmanshoek is home to about 250 horses, and the standard of horsemanship was exceptional.||||What impressed me most was their focus on safety and matching riders to the right horse. Before arriving, we were asked about our height, weight, riding ability, and preferences. Based on that, they carefully paired each of us with a horse suited to our skill level. This attention to detail made a huge difference and ensured we felt both safe and confident.||||These were not ordinary trail rides. This was true adventure riding – technical, scenic, challenging, and completely unforgettable. They also offer experience rides for more advanced riders, and even prepare people for endurance riding.||||Aside from the riding, the accommodation and hospitality were just as impressive. The rooms were beautifully prepared, with little touches like flowers on the towels and nougat on the beds. After long rides, we returned to a lit fireplace and warm electric blankets – pure comfort. The food was delicious, and the entire team was warm, welcoming, and professional.||||Moolmanshoek gave us an experience we will always treasure – one that goes far beyond a typical riding weekend. We will absolutely be back, and I recommend it to anyone who loves horses, nature, and real adventure.||||"Every little detail at Moolmanshoek was thoughtful and personal — from hand-folded toilet paper with flower petals, to breathtaking rides through wildlife-rich landscapes. Seeing antelope up close from horseback, climbing rugged trails under the guidance of a true horseman, and feeling completely immersed in nature... this was more than a weekend getaway. It...

Read moreIf there is a heaven on earth, it is here at Moolmanshoek. A few paragraphs of praise on Google could never fully encapsulate the magic and beauty of this place, including all of the people there. Dominique and Mafie went above and beyond to make our honeymoon here so special. Every day there was a new surprise for us, whether it be a private picnic, a romantic wine and charcuterie after our ride overlooking the valley, the fireplace lit our room every night… and so much more. We were so blown away by the outstanding service and genuine care catered to us every single day at Moolmanshoek.
Beyond that, the riding here is absolutely out of this world. My husband and I had the pleasure of riding with Weisman, who is a master and a gem of a human being. He brought my novice rider husband from zero to hero by the end of our week. Every day was a new and epic adventure on horseback. Whether it be a challenging climb and descent, long canters through the plains alongside game, a scenic stroll, or waterfall and cliffside adventures– no ride was the same at Moolmanshoek. My husband was paired with the perfect horse (Shadow) whom he quickly fell in love with and still talks about to this day. I had fun experiencing several horses who were all fantastic, and found my match with Kadar, a lovely grey Arabian.
It goes without saying the cabin-style rooms are cozy and homey, and the food was delicious with 5-star dining service provided by Mattheus and Mavis.
We return home with warm memories of sundowner drinks at the barn, delicious breakfast and coffee on the stoop, sharing laughs with Dominique and Weisman after rides, the amazing horses who carry you up and down impossible climbs, and the stunning panoramic views everywhere you go. I will never forget this place and all of the wonderful people here. I would love more than anything to...
