Stayed over as part of large family group (15 people) on our way to the Cape using the N12 as alternative route. Exceptional farm to stay over as pit stop. Very clean, good bedding, and a lovely pool (built in form of old farm dam with windmill next to it) to enjoy after long hot road. Access (dirt road) to farm from N12 tarr road is good -even for sedan cars. Easy to find farm as it is clearly marked.||Management is very good and very accommodating- friendly welcome, went beyond what was required and prepared The Kraal area where we enjoyed a braai and could relax as a whole family.||Units have double bed on raised level wich is accessed with two steps. Living space is on lowered level where the two single beds are also provided. Would be difficult to access with wheelchairs. Bathroom with shower only. All units has old farm feeling- but everything is neat as a pin with good bedding to ensure good nights rest. Small fridge in unit but owner assisted in providing freezer facilities to us and assisted in purchasing karoo lamb for the holidays.||Close to the Magersfontein museum if you are into history (specifically Anglo Boer war 1899- 1902). If you are traveliing south on the N12 from the farm, you will encounter an old block house from the war- fully accessible with parking area on the side of the road when you cross the Riet River on the other side of the railway line (working railway line). Farm itself has facinating history. ||Will definately recommend it to all and will definately stay over again, only for...
Read moreAfter a fantastic stay at Langberg Guest Farm in September, we were excited to book the same room (Kraal 6) again via Lekkeslaap for our return from holiday. The room we booked included self-catering facilities, perfect for a relaxing braai after a long day on the road. Unfortunately, our experience this time was deeply disappointing.
On arrival, we were placed in a completely different room (Stal 1) with none of the facilities we had specifically chosen. When we raised this issue with reception, we were met with a curt response: all other rooms were full, and nothing could be done.
To make matters worse, later that night, a group attending a bachelor party mistakenly and loudly knocked on our door, disturbing our rest. This is the last thing you want when you're exhausted from travel and need to leave early the next morning.
Regrettably, this experience left us feeling undervalued as returning guests. We won’t be staying at Langberg...
Read moreIf I could give 10000 stars I would. Beautiful guest farm experience. Very rich history. Kind attentive hosts. Our host went an extra mile for us. From special diet, to asking for mountain bikes to view sunset in the morning. We spotted buffalos, springboks, antelopes and a few wildebeests on the farm. Good food, we arrived 2 hours after check in time closed and we were welcomed with so much warmth. We decided to extend our stay from overnight to 2 nights. It was worth it. Value for money. Vintage style that made us travel to before our own birth. Keep it up guys! Quick ride to Big hole & Kimberly town, no traffic, 20 min drive. We had our own intimate braai for two one evening with very fresh lamb meat, they are so guest ready they provide everything, firewood, fire lighter, meat all at...
