Our daughter' wedding took place last week on the 4th of January 2025. We planned 18 months and went to see them 3 times. We had the reception inside the restaurant. The aircons did'nt work. We didnt know that and after we specifically said Jan is generally a hot month. Owner assured us it will be okay. It wasnt and he refused to swith on the 2 aircons that was still working. There is 5. All not working. We chose the sheep spit. Those people have no idea how to do a sheep spit or how to dish it up. They cooked the meat and cut it off and threw it in meat sauce. It was just humps of meat thrown into a dish. We've asked for 12 seater tables and paid for it, but got 8 seaters. People were cramped into their seats by the tables. The pudding (choc mousse) was melted and dished up in super small glasses which we had to drink...R80 per person for that. The bar didnt had coke. The salads wasnt enough for 77 guests. When it was time for canapes, the juice we paid for was Oros which was not cold. The Droëwors that was supposed to be given, was not there. They had biscuits and cheese but they didnt even had Cheese knives. The threw a few plain knives there on the table. The didnt put in any effort to make it look like food for a wedding. The bridal suite which was part of the package was suddenly not available. Geaser burst...Got a room of which the aircon didnt work. Switched rooms but then the roof leaked during the night and the power in that specific room went off. Guests paid for their drinks when we arranged it to be paid by the grooms dad. The Owner wasnt prepared to talk to us and after an email was send to him, we still have no answer. I will never, ever recommend that place for a wedding. The reception was spoiled because of the heat and the spit that was not done proffesionally. The owner should be ashamed of himself for treating his clients like we were treated. It was an utter...
Read moreThe most atrocious experience I've ever had in my life. Waited 10 minutes to even be greeted by the hostess, Audrey, who gave us a very cold reception; as though she did not want us to be there. I requested a smoking section which she said they did not have but when the Farmers Association had their year end function hosted there last week, they were provided with an area where they could smoke. The table we were assigned on the outside was not wiped down, despite the fact that the sign at the door clearly states they clean thoroughly so they can adhere to COVID regulations. The hostess was not wearing a mask when she received us; another indication that COVID rules are not being adhered to. She went into the kitchen with no mask on which is certainly against COVID regulations as well. The trays we were served on were also extremely filthy and we were given straws that were unwrapped on these dirty trays. I couldn't stay to even eat because I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like in there. The menus are subpar and there is no drinks menu. For an establishment that should be of high quality with a 4 star rating, I expected so much better. My biggest issue is with the hostess and her awful attitude towards us and the fact that she sat down most of the time, leaving other clients who entered the restaurant unattended because she was having a conversation and relaxing; I will never step foot there again....
