Newlands country lodge is the most disgusting place to visit We booked there this weekend from Friday 6 December 2024 till today 8 Dec 2024 The is nothing good about staying there The owner is so rude and racist she doesn't care and don't even know how to talk to clients though she is wrong The place is so dirty 😫 😪 very very dirty Cleary shows that it hasn't been cleaned in years We booked 2 weeks before and they did not even bother to clean There are insects/spider webs everywhere on beds couches bathroom I mean everywhere and when we asked the cleaner to clean when we told her that there are flies spider and insects she said what did we expect because this is a farm That place is not healthy and tidy it supposed to be closed down it's indeed a farm they have to move their crops in that Rusty building I will never personally recommend it to anyone People with sinuses suffered the most the beddings are tidy and smelling so bad we wear iching the whole night The whole building is smelling so bad 👎 😫 😩 The owner should just forget about business and close down that thing The place is nonsense multiply by rubbish which is called bullshit 🙄 😒 False advertisement we regret why we went on and book such disgusting rubbish including...

The stay overall was decent. It is not a fancy place. The lake picture is not part of the estate. There is an empty kids pool that’s just collecting dirt, there is a scrap yard next door. There is also like some lower end housing situated on your right as you drive in. It is in basically the middle of an informal settlement. The drive towards the gate had me guessing whether it’s be safer to sleep in the car for the night.

On the other hand, There was a security guard posted outside my unit for the first night only. The second night they were short staffed and the guard was working the gate. I say gate but that’s also where you check in as there is no reception desk.

There was wifi provided after I had asked in the form of a mobile wifi router loaded with a lot of gigabytes thankfully. That was very helpful.

The aircon was working !

The beds were a 5/10. But they were clean though.

Nice cottage - clean and everything one need!|But the flies - i have never in my life seen so many flies!! Althought they left a can of doom - probably knowing about the problem - the can was nevertheless empty and we had to buy another one to save us some sleep!! But o my god - never experienced so many flies!!|Photos - after we sprayed!!|Very basic and simple cottages - what it lacked: no extra blankets, no activity list or site map or explanaition as to where pool is, etc. Working in the tourism business, i can really give some advice to give this place a extra star with very little extras to name a few:|1. General information file or list in cottages - where is what - activities in the area, reception office, etc|2. A warm and friendly face welcoming you to your cottage at the cottage - security was very friendly but didnt guide which cottage is which, parking etc|3.
