Lumley's Place Guesthouse — Hotel in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

We are so glad we stayed at Lumley's. The host Benita is a lovely friendly host and extremely helpful . We had room 4 which was very big and comfortable and had everything you will need. We ate a lovely cooked breakfast in the mornings on the patio which was topped up with continental offerings. Benita suggested La Pommier for dinner which was a short drive and nice dinner again sitting outside.|What makes Lumlys so special is the very friendly nature of all those who you meet. Cecil who told me all about the wildlife in the area which was very interesting. Jess-Joy-Basil and Acelia all worked hard in the kitchen and again a pleasure to talk to. |Basil arranged taxis for us with a local driver Amos who took and bought us back from Boschendal.|Benitas parents could be seen wondering around the property which gave it a nice family feel.|Benita please pass this on to all mentioned and again thank you for making it such a wonderful stay. What an absolute gem, not just the guesthouse but the entire family as well. They have gone completely above and beyond to make my stay a pleasant one. Each morning tending to my breakfast demand, since I dislike eggs, and spoiling me with local koeksisters and baked goods.

The view from your room enforces peace into your soul, and the safety of the neighbourhood make you feel surrounded by friends. So we didn’t even stay here: we were staying in an overpriced, poorly served Airbnb up the road. R1300 for a single room with no Aircon or fan - it was 41,5 degrees in the car on the way to the venue. ||||So I phoned around to try find a fan solution. Benita came to the rescue - she said “leave it with me”. A short while later she called to say she has found an industrial fan for us; where can she drop it off....||We offered to pay for her time but she wasn’t having any of it. ||||I wish we hadn’t already paid the other venue.
