I don't believe that this resort's prices align with what other places offer at the same rate.

Even though the room was clean, it smelled of smoke (we did not even braai) and the smell did not even go away when we used our roomspray.

I called the day before to find out if earlier check-in was possible, on which I was told it is. We arrived, got our keys and headed to the room where we found the housekeepers busy cleaning. We sat outside the room for 1 hour waiting for them to be done. Normally a resort will tell you that the room is not ready yet, when checking in.

The shower was tricky to manage, you need fiddle with the warm water while showering as the stream of warm water does not flow constantly.

Small details make a big difference and a towl rail that is skew, broken parts of something left on the wall, a fridge door that drags on the floor when opening makes a place look run down.

Better signage within the resort will ensure that you can find your accommodation easier - we spoke to other guests who also struggled to translate the provided to the actual roads.

I can see that someone was once very proud to establish this resort, but the current standard will need to...

Went there for a work function. It's a nice chilled place. Beautiful view of the dam while you have your picnic or braai. We paid R120 per person for a day visit and had a choice to do 3 activities.

We did horse riding which was a little disappointing because it's so short distance doesn't even feel like 100 metres.

Went for a game drive it was okay. Kids would enjoy more we saw some bucks; lions, crocodile, camel, sheep, chickens and ducks. Kids would enjoy more though.

Then we went quad biking very disappointing as we were told you can't drive the bike on your own someone else drives it for you.

There was also canoeing and boat paddling

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The food was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpfull

I'd recommend you take...

We visited during the October holiday. Focus on day visitors and functions with the result that loud music is played till after midnight. Day visitors drive through the resort with music blaring to the extent that vehicles are parked on the grass in front of the restaurant next to tables with car music played. ||||Majority of the chalets seem to be housing mine contractors with guys spending time working on vehicles’ hanging around and doing a bit of gym on the porches. ||||I tried to take the noise issue up with the owner through the front desk staff, but was told that she is at a party and not available. ||||Terrible resort which should not take overnight guests unless attending a function I...

We went there as a church group to have Sunday school closing. It is such a lovely and relaxing place. The people from the administration were so friendly, welcoming, and patient as we had a few challenges, but they remained patient. The venue itself is so beautiful and well taken care of. The activities are exciting. The people who helped us during the activities went the extra mile to make us comfortable. I would suggest they get a golf cart so that you can easily move one place to the other as it gets tiring to walk.I would definitely recommend this resort, and I will definitely come with my family.

Travelling for work is usually a stressfull affair so myself and my father tend to pack the fishing gear and look for accomodation close to water. We came across Pienaardam Leisure Resort on our latest trip. The rooms were clean and very tidy. The staff friendly and helpfull. Very peacefull atmosphere. As for the fishing I think the pictures will speak for themselves. Next time I will bring the whole family! 5 star stay all round !
