I don't believe that this resort's prices align with what other places offer at the same rate.
Even though the room was clean, it smelled of smoke (we did not even braai) and the smell did not even go away when we used our roomspray.
I called the day before to find out if earlier check-in was possible, on which I was told it is. We arrived, got our keys and headed to the room where we found the housekeepers busy cleaning. We sat outside the room for 1 hour waiting for them to be done. Normally a resort will tell you that the room is not ready yet, when checking in.
The shower was tricky to manage, you need fiddle with the warm water while showering as the stream of warm water does not flow constantly.
Small details make a big difference and a towl rail that is skew, broken parts of something left on the wall, a fridge door that drags on the floor when opening makes a place look run down.
Better signage within the resort will ensure that you can find your accommodation easier - we spoke to other guests who also struggled to translate the provided to the actual roads.

Read moreWent there for a work function. It's a nice chilled place. Beautiful view of the dam while you have your picnic or braai. We paid R120 per person for a day visit and had a choice to do 3 activities.
We did horse riding which was a little disappointing because it's so short distance doesn't even feel like 100 metres.
Went for a game drive it was okay. Kids would enjoy more we saw some bucks; lions, crocodile, camel, sheep, chickens and ducks. Kids would enjoy more though.
Then we went quad biking very disappointing as we were told you can't drive the bike on your own someone else drives it for you.
There was also canoeing and boat paddling
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The food was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpfull
I'd recommend you take...
