Hopefield Guesthouse-Addo — Hotel in Sundays River Valley Local Municipality

Hopefield Country House was als described as an restaurant in TripAdvisor, but it's not! It is a beautiful guesthouse! We slept 3 quiet nights in this guesthouse and can highly recommend it. We arrived rather early, because of the 6.15 flight from Durban, but that was not a problem! We got a warm welcome from Esmee! We got nice homemade lemon limonade and she showed us our beautiful, big and luxurious room with a nice king bed, separate bath, toilet and shower. You can make your own coffee and tea in the room. We did muss a little a small fridge in the room. Although you can use the fridge in the country house. The garden is very beautiful with nice swimming pool, lots of flowers and blooming trees. In front of our room, on the lawn were 4 foxmangoose, beautiful to see!|The breakfast was also great with nice fresh fruits and yoghurt and eggs and toasts with a choice how you like it. The owner ( sorry we are very bad with names) was also very friendly! Real personal attention from her and Esmee. Thanks to all the people ( gardener, housekeeping etc.), who made this stay excellent for us!...

Quiet country escape nestled between the orange and lemon orchards of a working citrus farm, short drive away from Addo Elephant Park. Esme was a super host and made an enormous effort to make sure our kids had the best time. Clean, comfortable room for a family of 4. Plentiful, instant hot water, great shower pressure, lots of good quality towels & linen including fluffy blankets. The gardens at Hopefield are beautiful. Constant good wi-fi that stayed connected during load shedding, as did some of the lighting in the room, which was appreciated. Breakfast was great, hearty and included crumpets which were delicious with homemade lemon marmalade. The complimentary rusks in our room (which were homemade by Nicky the owner) & treats on arrival were also lovely touches to make us feel so welcome. We had an absolutely wonderful time at Hopefield Guesthouse Addo! The place is stunning – spacious, beautifully decorated rooms, a well-maintained property with a lovely pool, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. It’s just a stone’s throw from Addo National Park, making it the perfect base for exploring the area.

A huge thank you to Nicky and the entire team – you were simply amazing! So warm, helpful, and always there whenever we needed support. You can really feel the love and dedication behind everything they do.

The breakfast was another highlight: fresh, delicious, and served with a big smile – the perfect way to start the day.
