My family stayed at this lodge last week for 4 nights. Marie and her helpers, volunteers were very welcoming and accommodating. The accommodation was perfect and we settled in nicely for our first evening. A wonderful breakfast was served the next morning promptly with homemade jams, fresh farm milk, cheese and cold meats. ||Taking a guided walk around the farm was amazing, so many different happy farm animals that my kids learnt so much about. The zoo had a variety of birds, rabbits, wild pigs and domesticated animals. We hiked into the bush and got real close to zebra and giraffe, you could almost hear them breathe. ||Marie organised us a braai that evening and was unreal the work she does with her own hands on the farm, from hand raising the animals to ethically slaughtering them. The meat, pork, chicken, beef was all from the farm, and was delicious. Max made authentic "roosterkoek" on the hot coals. The smells and vibe while everything was being prepared were making us all hungry after a busy day exploring on the farm. The food was delicious, and it was interesting how such few people manage around 400 animals themselves. ||We went on horse trails the following day, and the kids loved every minute being on horse back and in the African bushveld. ||Our lodge was very comfortable and clean for the 4 of us, hearing all the bird calls and animal sounds was amazing, especially the roar of lion at night. We saw elephants, rhino and a range of other wildlife from our deck and eventually decided to a day trip to Addo on our last day. ||In hindsight our trip was one of my famalies best african experiences, the warmth and knowledge of the people at Pure Nature family lodge was extraordinary, and you can not just see but feel they all love what they do. I can highly recommend anyone who wants an authentic family holiday to try this game farm, its centrally located, has most amenities and the most rewarding part is the foods that are mostly made on the farm, by Marie herself. Hope to see you soon for another experience and...
Read morePure Nature Family Lodge has been a place my family and I have been visiting for the past 5 years. It's a place where you can relax and forget about the hustle and bustle of every day life. The perfect place to reconnect with your family in beautiful surroundings.||You'll be hard pressed to find a more perfect accommodation for children. This place is any child's dream. I have 3 children ranging in ages 1 to 9 and they all love it there. It is their happy place. They get to run free in nature and there are animals of all sorts to discover and enjoy.||What I love is that my children can learn where their food comes from. Get involved in milking cows, collecting eggs and harvesting vegetables. All grown organically and cruelty free. It really is from farm to table. And the food is absolutely delicious. My fussy kids clean their plates.||The play area is incredible. A huge pirate ship shaped jungle gym, sandpit, trampoline, giant lego blocks and swimming pool provide for hours of fun. Best of all its fenced in so parents can relax on the terrace with a coffee while watching their kids. ||The highlight for my children are the out rides. Nothing beats a safari on horse back. They got see giraffe, zebra, warthog and many antelope species upclose. Memories they will treasure for life.||We all also loved the animal sanctuary and petting zoo. My toddler is obsessed with birds and monkeys so this was a real treat for her.||Marie is an excellent host and always makes us feel welcome. The only thing we regret is not...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time at Marie’s! People who love animals will definitely enjoy their stay here – especially horse girls. Of course, there are some traces left by the farm animals, which is good to know beforehand. If that’s not a problem for you, this is the perfect place.||Getting to the lodge is easily possible with a regular car and some driving skills. If you’re worried about your rental car, it might be a good idea to let Marie know in advance and ask for a pick-up service. Shopping options in the area are limited, but Marie gives clear advice beforehand to stock up on supplies.||The accommodation itself is a bit older, but the view and the close encounters with giraffes, zebras and more truly make up for it. There is water and electricity, but being this far out, one shouldn’t expect European standards.||We found the price very fair – especially considering the direct proximity to the national park. Nature lovers will absolutely enjoy their stay here, and that’s why we would definitely recommend this lodge. Just make sure to inform yourself in advance about the conditions, and you’ll have a...
