Frog Mountain Getaway — Hotel in Swellendam Local Municipality

Frog Mountain is one of my very best places - words that come to mind are beauty, nature, mountain, water, farm, green, activity, relaxation, comfort, hot tubs. ||The houses are set in a loose string along a lovely lush gravel driveway, and are completely private from each other. Along that driveway you can stop off at a playground, and at a communal swimming pool bordered with plants and flowers and a lawn, and with a mountain view. Each space is lovingly maintained.||The houses (which are great) look onto lovely meadows (a small herd of regeneratively farmed, happy cows and some horses) and behind them is the river and then the mountain. It's about a five minute walk across the fields to grassy river bank with a really fun zipline, and canoes - all really well used by our group. Other side of the river is the start of the mountain with walks to swimmable rock pools and waterfall. ||The houses are great to spend time in - comfortable and well equipped, beautifully situated, lots of light and views and each has a hot tub.||We've been going to Frog Mountain yearly as big group of families for about a decade and it's become a highlight of our year. The place is contained at the end of a valley road, and so our huge gang of kids are able to be largely unsupervised as they fish, canoe, swim, befriend cows, cycle, zipline, etc. ||Can't wait for...

Love how you’ve made use of wood in so many different ways. Very creative and I love the tree stumps. It brings back such fond memories of days spent in Kruger. ||Love the attention to detail. Your taps are amazing! The best shower I’ve had for a long time! It’s way better and nicer than ours at home! 😂🙈||The fresh cut flowers are such a lovely touch! We are a family with small children that loves the outdoors, hiking and swimming in rivers, as well as our creature comforts. Frog Mountain Getaway ticked all these boxes and more. Our cottage was clean and well equipped, with unexpected touches like complementary coffee, tea and rusks; luxurious cotton bedding that exceeds the cottage’s “pay grade”; and a trampoline with a safety net for the kids. We swam in the waterfall pool (a short, easy walk that my 4-year-old managed quite easily), paddled in the supplied canoes, foefied down the foefie slide, and fed apples to the resident horse and donkeys. All this rustic, offline beauty just 15 minutes away from Swellendam, which boasts several worthy restaurants and craft shops, as well as a Spar and a Checkers to meet your basic needs.
