My husband and I visited here in March 2018, and haven't been able to get over it since. ||||The lodge is on the Madikwe game reserve and consists of 8 private lodges which were bigger than the entire downstairs of my home. The rear of the lodge is glass and the bed faces this. There is also a large bathroom and even an outdoor shower if you wanted to feel at one with the surroundings. The lodge overlooks a private stream and we were lucky enough to watch giraffes, zebras and elephants to name a few come and drink from there. We even had a hippo come and pay us a visit during the evening. ||||The main building has an infinity swimming pool which overlooks the reserve, seated areas located all over including endless amount of books for reading, a shop for purchase items you may wish to take home to remember your trip. We purchased fleece jackets, coffee mugs and hats to name a few items. The property offers all inclusive which is great too!||||We were made to feel like family by the staff who would tend to our every need. Whether that be to ensure our favourite drinks were taken out on game drives and our favourite foods were ready for us for dinner. We were given private massages on the deck of our lodge and had personal guides to ensure our safety walking to and from our lodges to the main area. ||||The game drives were incredible and consisted of two every day, you can even to a walk by foot (we did this and got to see hippos bathing in a river) where we would be able to witness beautiful sunrises and sunsets alongside viewing the beautiful animals out in the wild. We were lucky to enough to see the big five, watch wild dogs on a hunt and even see the rare black rhino. Our guide, Kaiser was amazing and so knowledgeable. He made every drive special providing us with breakfast and sundowners as well as teaching us about the beautiful animals we were able to see. ||||The evenings were also special, we had a three course meal every night which consisted of specialty South African dishes as well as entertainment from the staff whereby they would sing African songs to us. They were all so lovely! ||||We were even booked in to sleep under the stars in their treehouse, however, we were unable to do this due to a storm but my in laws visits last year and had this experience and they told us there aren't enough words to express how incredible this was. ||||We loved this place so much that we are booked to return in 2021 with our in laws and to say I cried with pure joy when this was done says it all really. ||||Could not recommend this place anymore. ||||I decided to keep this review short and sweet as I could talk about this place for a week straight and still have more to say. My icon was from this trip. ||||If you are thinking about visiting...

Read moreWe had a fantastic 4 night stay in Jan 2019. There are no words to describe how fantastic this lodge is! The communal areas such as the outdoor bar, infinity pool, restaurant etc were stunning & beautifully kept. Our actual lodge was the height of luxury! It was enormous, immaculate & had the most breathtaking views onto the lake, where we saw lots of hippos! The 4 poster bed, private terrace, free standing bath & outdoor shower were fabulous! There are only 8 lodges which made our stay much more special & chilled. The drives were the absolute highlight, our guide Kaiser was fantastic & so knowledgeable. We saw so many animals & amazing sites such as cheetahs & lions with their kills. All the guides are very thoughtful of the animals & there were never more than 2 trucks around the animals, often only ours, I felt the animals needs always came first. The food was also incredible, with delicious vegetarian options for me & variety of meats for my husband. The staff were all fanastic & attentive, nothing was too much trouble- especially Ben & David - thank you! Our only small complaint is that the mosquito net was broken so we couldn't stay in the hide. For such a luxurious lodge, I think they should have had spares. Apart from that I could not fault this lodge & couldn't...
