We had an amazing stay in December 2022 at Mseni's Seaview House. We were 4 families, of which 3 of us all had small kids (6 years and under).

I think this is the perfect place for families with older kids or no kids. Because it is such a stunning house with beautiful furniture, you don't want your kids to break anything and you are just more careful with the kids around. Also, when the kids play upstairs, you can hear their footsteps on the floor in all downstairs rooms. This might be bothersome if someone wants to take a nap / sleep in / etc.

It is a stunning house, even though there were a few things that needed more maintenance. The shower door in our room was broken and it could not be fixed while we were there, so we had to shower with an open door. The gas braai was faulty and we could't use it.

The lodge's swimming pool was amazing, although we got the vibe that the divers chilling there were not happy with the small kids around. The restaurant is not kiddie-friendly, they have signs that your kids are not allowed to run around or play inside the restaurant. Which is fine, you can still order and let the restaurant deliver to your unit.

Staff was VERY friendly and it was such a treat to have the house cleaned every day. Even on the public holidays, which we didn't expect.

I think the place is more suited for divers and not for family (with small kids) vacations. But overall a very nice...

Beautiful Location Stunning Beaches that can make you feel like you're the only one there with the Backdrop of the massive Dunes. The Lodge Staff are very friendly Facilities are basic but modern and very clean. Breakfast was great. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was down to two facts. First I ordered Dinner at their Restaurant Spare Ribs 295 R at that price I have expectations the meat was tough and probably just thawed from frozen. Unacceptable at this Price couldn't eat it when I send the food back and the manager enquired about my meal I explained that the ribs where old, though and basically inedible. His Response was unprofessional as his response was in 8 months he had never received a complaint. I then asked him to try it after which he completely disappeared from the Restaurant. Again Unacceptable, they did not charge me but I only had 1 bite and felt sick for the rest of the Night. The 2nd issue was that despite the cabins being beautifully decorated the mattress felt like a waterbed, I guess this is ok for young people but I feel a firm mattress would be better for all ages. Otherwise I would still recommend to Visit the Lodge as it is a stunning Location and the Lodge is on the right Track except the...

I´ve had an amazing time there. My cottage was very nice and clean. The AC worked well and there always was warm water, so no load shedding problems. Mseni Lodge is a laid back and quiet place, secluded in the Sodwana Bay National Park. The cottages are in the beautiful forest / jungle and you can see a lot of butterflies, monkeys, deer and fowls. There was no TV or internet connection in the cottages, which is not a disadvantage for me. The restaurant has an amazing view and the food was tasty. The staff was amazing, from the facility manager to the waiters. They were super friendly and trying to deliver a great experience. Every matter (e.g. door lock problem, AC problem, clothes to wash) was dealed with very fast and satisfactorily.

If you asked me about something to improve, i would say the WiFi for guests in the common areas. Nowadays internet really should be available without voucher and 500MB limits. Also some comfy opportunities for guest to relax, hang out, read ... should be available at the restaurant or...

We visited the the restaurant only. We where received friendly. The menu had good variety and food was great. You do however need to make a booking beforehand and the place was very busy for a Tuesday afternoon at 3pm. Although they are a family restaurant there's no real entertainment for the little ones . There nice views from all angles in the seating area. Waiters was on top of everything especially helping with your 2yr old explorer. A issue for me was that you still need to pay the full day rate at the gates even if you are only going to visit the restaurant. We will visit again!

On a day trip to Sodwana Bay it’s lovely to stop at Mseni Lodge. It gives you the opportunity to drive all the way along the nature reserve into the gated area of the lodge. There is a small access fee. At the lodge, there are walks to the beach and so it is a nice place to stop. The restaurant is lovely and on two levels with mostly the upper level being used. There’s an indoor section and then two more open sections where you can sit on at a raised bar table and overlook the greenery of the dune vegetation with a distant view of the ocean.

We just got back from a 4 night stay at Mseni. Wow! The beach is breath taking, we loved long walks on the dunes and fishing. A short drive to the main beach too for snorkelling and swimming. The rooms were perfect, so clean and serviced beautifully daily by wonderful staff. No load shedding, plenty of hot water, fans and air con all made for a great stay. The pool was great for our kids and always clean and tidy around the lodge. The Resturant was ok, it was busy, so long waits. The calamari was yummy! We will definitely be back!
