Date 24th December to 31St December 2023 The impression and description one gets from the pictures on the website is a far cry from the reality. Pool this pool is far from large at best one person could swim in it if they were willing to brave the fungi The seating ( lounging) around the pool area was filthy cant say when last it was changed The toilets at the poolside was the same. Disgusting Bar only people seated there was staff watching TV no patrons ( very few in camp) Really don't know when last the counter was cleaned Room We were in room 8 Rustic cabin again nothing like the pictures showed. No tea or coffee station the floor is sloped giving you the impression you are rolling off the bed Really don't know when last the mattress was replaced. 2nd day we had an ant infestation, one does expect ants in this environment but after spraying doom and moving the cupboard we found an ants nest .. Goes to show when last deep cleaning was done. I asked to be moved to another cabin as my partner was scared but they said they were expecting a full camp the next day so they could not help I was ready to move out but had already paid Shower head rusted water pressure disappears while showering poor flushing of toilet Serving of dinner as advertised Non existent good job though because after trying the breakfast for one and a half mornings I can imagine the quality SO after having flown in from Cape town taking the 3 and half hour drive expecting to get a dinner only to be disappointed I then had to drive back into town to get something to eat The staff were trying their best but a lot of training is required and there is no hands on management. The manager on duty could not even print me an invoice for the breakfast which i though was free :) No empowerment No staff had uniform to say that they are employed there even kitchen staff , even the security once I stumbled upon him at night standing between the chalets was not appropriately dressed.
Anyway I could write a comprehensive report needless to say this place has so much potential to become a great getaway with some TLC, but I suppose you get what you pay for. I can do rustic but this was this was far below expectations. I loved the walk around the camp the natural beauty but that's about it. I suppose at one time there was an atmosphere and former glory there going by some previous reviews but sadly this...
Read moreWould never recommend this place. Website pictures are deceiving. Owner demanded full payment upfront 7 days prior to arrival so before I paid I e-mailed and asked him for his cancellation policy which I never received - only the invoice. When we arrived, bush camp was run down, pool was murky and I would not swim in it, room was ok but kitchen was outside on patio and cupboards locked. The bath was cracked and leaking and had fibreglass all over it so could not be used. No food available although their website does mention breakfast?Manager onsite did not know what the cancellation policy was and owner was out of signal, we waited around for about an hour trying to get hold of him and left. When I finally got hold of him, he refused to give us even a % of a refund and stated he had a specific cancellation policy which I...
Read moreWe loved our stay at Pumusa Bush Camp. It is accessed off a quiet dirt road opposite the False Bay Reserve and on this road we saw warthog, a grey duiker fawn, a honey badger and (through the fence) numerous nyala. Inside the camp, the cabins are set among beautiful trees and native plants with well maintained, rustic concrete pathways between them. There is a 1/2 hour, flat walking trail on-site on which we saw Louries, Impala, Nyala, Monkeys and geckos. Andre was a delightful host who went out of his way to welcome us and make us feel at home. The breakfast was beautifully cooked by Ellie and served on the lovely patio area next to the pool. The room was clean and the bed was supportive with a mosquito net set up above the bed. We would love to return to Pumusa one day and would highly recommend...
