Pom Gratz — Hotel in Theewaterskloof Local Municipality

I booked at Pomgratz as I wanted to experience the Overberg Region in a less conventional setting . I am so glad I did . The hosts, Mike and his Wife Sandy are literally available at any time of the day or night should you need anything, Pomgratz is a working pomegranate farm in the gorgeous Tesselaarsdal area . The farm sits amongst the rolling hills and has the most fantastic views all round. The silence and peacefulness is so refreshing and lends itself to meditation and reflection. So good for the soul. The Eco Domes are luxuriously appointed with everything you could need and have super cool extras that give each dome a personality of its own. The linens are high end and quality and they looked brand new as were the towels . The little kitchen had everything that one needed including fresh local farm milk for ones tea or coffee and a bottle of wine. You pretty much only need to bring your food /drinks as the kitchen is so well equipped that you could whip up an amazing meal here. There is also a fire pit outside with a grid /grill to BBQ/ Braai you meat over some coals. There is also a deep soaking tub outside on the deck with hot an cold water taps to fill it. The bath room has a composting toilet which for me , a California guy took a bit of getting used to , but I value the sustainable nature of this property and their efforts to reduce ones carbon footprint . The shower was hot and so refreshing after a busy day's exploring . Loved the ceramic interesting hand basins in the all the bathrooms. The hosts Mike and Sandy are bit outdoor enthusiasts so can give you good recommendations for hikes, trail runs and mountain bike routes and also offer accompanied hikes if you a solo visitor. They know the area well and have tons of great recommendations of places to eat, visit and explore . What's great as well is that the Eco Domes and farm is pet friendly so you can bring your fur baby along for the visit. Pom Gratz is a Gem of the Overberg region and you cannot miss the incredible experience of staying here during your visit ....

Our stay was amazing, we had everything that we needed and expected for our short but very sweet breakaway. Beautiful, natural surroundings. Peace and quiet and also a very intamate setting. All the boxes were ticked. The domes are very Cosy inside. The kitchen and toilet facilities are clean and has everything a couple needs. Both Mike and Sandy are exceptional hosts. The hot tub was amazing even with the wind. We walked the whole farm before we finally found the labarinth of love which we both enjoyed and found symbolic of how love works. We had the oppertunity to spend one night at Pom Gratz in one of the "Domes" for my Birthday weekend. We ordered the picnic basket and was this the most unbelievable experience we have ever had (Coming out of the hospitality). Sandy and Mike deserves a 20 out of 10 for all the special touches, delicious baked goods, special baked doggy treats, and extraodinary hospitality and accommodation. We enjoyed every moment and will definitely be back.
