We had a wonderful time at Porcupine Hills Guest Farm. Cha was so lovely and accommodating and even allowed us a late checkout to spend more time on the farm given that there was no one else checking in that day. ||||The property is quiet and a perfect escape from the city. We loved exploring and taking in the sounds and sights of nature, and even came across some fun surprises (including the forest and dam). I thoroughly enjoyed the various hiking trails on offer as well.||||We experienced some cold and rainy weather during our stay in early May, and the farmhouse was well set up to handle the colder temperatures. We made great use of the wood-fired hot tub (which is very easy to operate, even with little experience) as well as the fireplace, and there was an abundance of high quality wood provided for our stay. We loved spending many hours in the hot tub each day, listening to the various bird songs and watching the eagles circle above.||||The farmhouse is tastefully designed and was perfect for our party of four adults. The kitchen was well equipped and we also made use of the outdoor braai on one of the nights. There were lots of activities to keep us entertained, including boardgames and puzzles. It was so refreshing to stay somewhere without a television and enjoy each others' company. That said, we made use of the WIFI for music and to keep in touch with family - the connection was stable and speedy, with no issues.||||We are certainly keen to visit again and explore even more of what the property and surrounding area has to offer. The farmhouse was well suited for the colder temperatures that we experienced and it seems like it would be a blast to stay in the warmer, summer months too, as there is a beautiful private pool under some lovely shady trees as well as various streams/rivers scattered around the property for a quick dip. ||||Thank you for accommodating us.||||Kind...
Read moreWe stayed at Porcupine Hills as part of a large group celebrating a friend’s 50th, having booked out all the accommodation for the weekend.
The drive from Cape Town was a quick and scenic escape, setting the tone for a perfect getaway. The location was breathtaking, with stunning views all around.
We stayed in The Eyrie with a couple of other families, and the space was fantastic. The rooms were very spacious—we even had extra beds added for our children and still had plenty of room. The bathrooms were clean, and the kitchen was impressively well-equipped for a larger group. Often, rentals only provide the basics, but here, there was more than enough cutlery, crockery, and even large dishes for platters and salads. The added bonus? A dishwasher—because who wants to do dishes on a weekend away?
The outdoor area was just as lovely, with a comfortable seating area for relaxing and a well-maintained natural swimming pool. The only small downside was a few splinters from the pool deck, but that was minor in an otherwise fantastic stay.
The layout of the accommodations was ideal—spread out enough to ensure privacy while still being close enough for easy visits and a good kuier with friends.
A truly wonderful weekend was had by all! Highly recommended for a...
Read moreI had a big party at Klipboks and all my guests stayed at the various wonderful accommodations on Porcupine Hills and Southern Yurts and it was just the most wonderful weekend. It is rural and rough to get there but the accommodation is just gorgeous - with such attention to detail. Eyrie is a marvelous large home with views and pool and large stoep which was much enjoyed by my family who needed some peace and quiet. Farmhouse was beautifully appointed also for 2 families with children - loved the pool area too. Klipboks was just the perfect party venue - with the central boma and little pool and Zen Shed close by which we used for movie watching and serious dancing too
Thank you Cha for everything and the wonderful staff who came to clean after all our meals... We are still basking in the afterglow of the weekend and the beautiful space...
