Babanango Zulu Rock Lodge — Hotel in Ulundi Local Municipality

My girlfriend and i have a seen a lot of beautiful places in the world but the Zulu Rock Lodge was by far the best stay in our entire life. We arrived and the staff gave us an welcome drink and a cold towel. They were super friendly en showed us around. The views were spectacular and so breath taking. We booked the honeymoon suite (please book, you won’t regret). This was the best choice ever since this room has his own swimming pool and once again an breath taking view. We stayed there for 3 nights and it was still way to short. The housekeeping did a really excellent job. They cleaned the room twice a day. They did a so called ‘turn down’ service (closing curtains, turning on ac, make up the bed, clean and a lot of amazing extra’s), which was amazing en very nice. The staff was so nice and caring and really took the time to listen to our wishes we had during the stay (how many gamedrives, breakfast, lunch, dinner times, extra’s like stargazing etc.) The game drives were amazing and well organized. Our tourguide was brilliant and very passionate about the reserve and its biodiversity. The reserve is working hard to become a big five reserve, but the diversity of animals is already huge! Beautiful hillside reserve with amazing views all around. We were surprised when we entered the gate and arrived at the parking lot by the guide/ranger that picked us up with a game viewing vehicle. From there on it was another 10-15 min drive up to the lodge on a 4x4 only road. First views of the animals included.

The staff was extraordinary friendly and thoughtful. By arrival we were greeted with small towels and a drink for refreshment. In the hotel itself you feel right at home and enjoy amazing views from about everywhere.

The rooms/little houses have a breathtaking view and even a little oven you can also enjoy from your balcony.

Game drives were every morning and evening with always the same guide. In our case we were blessed with Theo, a wonderful man that not only showed us the animal world around us but also told us a lot about Zulu life and traditions. The drives were extraordinary and never the same as the one before.

All around it was the perfect experience and we couldn‘t hope for something more!
