Blissful Retreat in the Midlands!

We spent a wonderful 2-night getaway at this charming 6-sleeper, self-catering Cottage in the picturesque Midlands, KwaZulu-Natal. Booking directly with the provider was seamless, and communication was excellent.

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. The attention to detail was impressive, exemplified by thoughtful touches like toilet paper folded into flowers with elegant stamps. The effort put into making the bedding extraordinary was also a lovely surprise.

The fully equipped self-catering unit had everything we needed, making meal preparation a breeze. We appreciated the convenience and flexibility this offered.

What truly made our stay special was the pet-friendly policy. As proud owners of two adorable Maine Coons, we were thrilled to find a beautiful accommodation that welcomed our furry family members. The spacious grounds and peaceful surroundings ensured our cats were as relaxed as we were!

We enjoyed access to Wi-Fi and Netflix, allowing for relaxing movie nights if needed. The highlight of our stay was the tranquil atmosphere, complete with a cozy fireplace and stunning views of the night sky. We indulged in a afternoon picnic with cheese and champagne and enjoyed the blissful star-gazing, just as we had hoped.

The owner's thoughtfulness and dedication to creating a warm, inviting space made our stay truly special. We wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat, especially pet owners.

Pros: Attention to detail (lovely touches like folded toilet paper) Exquisite bedding Fully equipped self-catering unit Pet-friendly (a huge plus for us!) Stunning views and star-gazing Cozy fireplace Wi-Fi and Netflix Tranquil atmosphere

Cons: None notable

Recommendation: Perfect for couples, families, or friends seeking a relaxing getaway with their...

Absolutely loved Mark and Lee’s Far Away Place! We stayed in the Treehouse, which was a perfect getaway for my husband, two doggies and I. The attention to detail when it came to the stylish interior made our stay super comfortable and enjoyable. Not only were the amenities great, but the hospitality from the owners, Mark and Lee, was truly the highlight of our trip. They were a friendly face during our entire stay, and were so warm, welcoming and accommodating. Our two doggies had a ball of time playing with theirs, as well as enjoying all the beautiful surrounding nature that they had on offer. Also a bonus, was that the accommodation was close enough to the surrounding restaurants, shops and activities Nottingham Road has to offer. Would 100% recommend a stay here, if you’re looking to get away for a cosy vacation in the Midlands, especially somewhere...

In all my stays over the years in the Midlands, nothing has quite compared to Far Away Place. The views of the surrounding farmlands and mountains is unmatched. I truly believe this place is unbeatable, this has to be the best spot in the Midlands! Absolutely everything about this place has been perfected - from the fireplaces to hammocks, outdoor showers and cozy indoor furnishings. Not to mention the location which is on Nottingham road, so it’s literally a left or right to everything you could possibly want. The hosts were also just the best - they even baked us some fresh homemade bread! I could honestly go on about this place forever there is just so much to rave about - but thank you to thee most amazing hosts too! I can’t wait to come back time and time again! 🌾

A Heartwarming retreat My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at A Far Away Place to celebrate my father's birthday, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, Marc and Lee made us feel like a part of their family. Their warmth and hospitality are unparalleled. The cottage was immaculate, comfortable, and featured all the amenities we could have wished for. It was truly the ideal backdrop for our family celebration. I highly recommend A Far Away Place for anyone looking to escape the bustle of everyday life and enjoy the beauty of nature, alongside some very friendly canine companions. We left with our hearts full and memories we will cherish forever. Thank you, Marc and Lee, for making our trip so incredibly special.
