Mon Desir Estate — Hotel in uMgeni Local Municipality

We had previously visited Mon Desir when it was Kwela Lodge under previous owners and Don has only just taken it on. There were teething troubles, about which he was 'up-front' and we were content to continue with our stay. In the event, they were minimal and did not impact on the enjoyment of our stay. We had braai by the pool for our first night and this was most enjoyable. Our room was newly decorated, comfortable and quiet and there was sufficient hanging/drawer space and coffee/tea making items. The provision of a jug of fresh milk was much appreciated. We understand that a complete refurbishment of the house and other buildings in the grounds is to be commenced and this will be a superb venue in due course. The number and variety of colourful and scented trees, shrubs/flowers is stunning and make a stay here a must for plant lovers. Don was extremely helpful as evidenced by a phone call as we were leaving advising us of an alternative route to avoid a demonstration on the outskirts of Durban. Otherwise a flight may have been...

From the moment we arrived at this hidden gem on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg, we could relax,unwind and forget the hustle and bustle of the year. We were greeted like old friends by our most gracious and friendly hosts, Don and Berto, and we instantly felt at home!. After a welcome drink and awesome meal we could retire to spacious,comfortable,beautifully decorated rooms, and we could wake up to the most stunning and breathtaking views of Albert Falls Dam while enjoying a steaming cup of coffee. Wheter it is a scrumptious breakfeast or an awesome dinner, our hosts left no stone unturned to ensure our stay was enjoyable and an experience we will never forget! Stunning and breathtaking scenery, kind hosts who have become friends, and a beautiful relaxing time in a great family friendly enviroment will have us back at Mon Desir very soon! The Owner with name of Mr Don is so arrugant and disrespectfull.We where late at arrival after we made arrangements to say we will be late after a 650km drive.We arrived at 20.24pm

At arrival he were saying that we rather must leave the next day...After a big argument me and my work partner dicided that we are leaving to a other guest house.

We supported Mon desir before where there was complains that we are not allowed to be at bar/SWIMMING POOL AREA after 20.30 at night and made a big scene of that before while we where preparing food after late arrival of work.

We explained to MR DON that we are working late at night and early mornings for the the kind of work we do.

He was very helpfull and pulite in the beginning and then just changed over night.Even hes partner Beto said he does not know what is wrong with him and why is he treating customers like that
