Dinner the first night took a really long time to arrive and when It did arrive we were eating in the complete dark. No candles or night lights are provided if one chooses to dine by the pool area at the lodge.. No music which leaves for a dull abience. Guests were.playimg music on their phones.
Only 2 towels provided for a double room lodge!! Please take extra towels and soap etc
Breakfast the next morning which I opted not to have at the lodge after Lizell firmly stated only 1 complimentary coffee allowed. Wow I was amazed at her firmness of one coffee allowed. Lizelle ain't really hospitable warm or friendly ..definitely not lodge material Overall!
We arranged a late checkout with the owners son which he said was absolutely fine as they were no checkins the next day ..at 9.30 the next day when settling the bill 0f thousands spent at the lodge we were told we have to be out at 10 as they were expecting guests. When I insisted on a shower before leaving , they turned off the water and turned it back on when I was ready to leave. I have evidence of videos for anyone wanting to see.
Overall do not support this lodge, there are many beautiful lodges around the area. Management and customer service are extremely poor. Kosi bay lodge is managed by people who have no clue on how to TREAT there guests. Still waiting on the owner to ring but she won't as the order came from Karin to turn off the water so admitted a staff.member ... just don't be a Karin as Karins are real mean awkward people!!!
I have proof of videos for anyone wanting to see for a laugh 😅
At 12 noon at checkout we opted to have lunch before traveling back a 6 hr journey with our 3 little kids as we were not allowed a late checkout.
I discovered that the receptionist Lizelle and waitress were in the kitchen preparing our meal . So Karin if you were expecting guests why did you not have a functional kitchen with a chef ect ....perhaps you lied about gueata checking in just to hàve us out at 10 ...
Really turning off your water supply is the lowest one can go. I hope this review really makes people think twice about supporting your lodge.
Overall an absolute heartbreaking disappointing experience especially after our long travel with 3 little ones for a special birthday. Pathetic management Overall...we spent a lot of money here and a relaxed checkout of atleast half hour is not at all ridiculous.
Please guys check out the other lodges around and do not support koai Bay lodge. I would hate for anyone else to...
Read moreIf you want to relax, unwind and enjoy the bush with all the conveniences on site this is the PLACE TO BE IN KOSI BAY. The accommodation is great and affordable. The staff, Christo, god singer as well. and Lynette and the team are very accommodating and helpful. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they went out of their way to make dinner memorable. Champagne, chocolates, and the seafood platter was excellent.||The pools are clean and the area is great to relax at. We enjoyed the day boat trip and some fishing with the lodge and Alex "tour guide" Micheal the skipper was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the area and indigenous lifestyle. They explained the art of the fish traps and their history. It is definitely worthwhile. ||Next time we are going to pack a picnic basket, foldup chairs, and sit on one of the "sandbank island" for an afternoon of luxury while the fishing lines are in the water.||The three lakes are magnificent ad so clear and the trip to the beach was good, bit windy but.... that is nature by the sea in Sping.||I seriously recommend Kosi Bay Private lodge and the area is one of the last you will see as it was hundreds of years ago. This is a must-see, the roads are ok and a sedan can get you to the lodge without any problems.||Wy wait, enjoy a guided snorkelling experience with Safari & Surf and see the wonderful sea life and know that you are in safe hands. Come...
Read moreWe weren't too happy with our experience.
as we called ahead to find a place to sleep for the night and was told we could have a place for R500 for the night which we thought was good value, seen that it was just to sleep for one night.
When we handing in the key. Only to have said to our faces that we we were cheapskate. Totally gobsmacked about that comment. Who says things like that to guest's? No matter what they are paying.
We were taken to one chalet which was cleaned and ready but then told that we been taken to another chalet. As that one was not cleaned yet. We arrived in the afternoon.
The shower was blocked and as it was filling up there was black stuff coming up out the drain into the shower.
However the staff in the evening at dinner were super friendly and their hospitality was awesome! Thank you.
We ordered the seafood platter for two. Unfortunately I got violently ill. I spent from midnight til 4 a.m. vomiting and the runs, thank goodness I travel with extra toilet paper as there was only half a toilet roll in the bathroom.
You were recommended to us by a good Friend. They must of had a good experience. But we certainly did not.
The chalet was not clean and prepared for us like the first one we...
