What a spectacular place! The barefoot luxury and passionate friendly staff had us living high on the hog for sure! This enchanting hideaway is located near the Northern gateway of Isimangaliso Wetland Park which is a UNESCO World Protected Wetland Area. There are so many adventures available at the Lodge...and best of all...most are included in your stay. We went on a forest walk and canoed in the Kosi Bay lake system. Unfortunately, we were only there 2 days which didn't give us enough time to explore all the other activities. Best of all, this lodge is conservation and community oriented, giving many benefits to the Zulu people. So while enjoying yourself in this little paradise, you can feel good about it! ||In addition, our forest and canoeing guide Phiqa was AMAZING! He was so knowledgeable about the forest and lake systems and taught us so much. Plus he made us feel really safe when we were with him. Honestly, I was a nervous wreck with the idea of canoeing in waters with hippos and crocs but Phiqa took away my fears which allowed me to really enjoy my time on the beautiful and pristine waters of the lake. ||I highly recommend Kosi Forest Lodge. The lodge and its employees more than lived up to its name...because guests are definitely made to feel welcome, cozy, and safe!||Sue Tidwell, author of Cries...

While the lodge's accommodation is well used, the magical forest, abundant bird life, delicious food and exceptional staff more than make up for it. The staff, led by Blessings, went out of their way to accommodate our group of 12 including children, sharing local stories about the area and the plants & animals and adding special touches like hot water bottles in our beds at night.
One of the highlights of our stay was learning about the traditions of the Tonga people from George. The boat ride, where he explained the intricate fish traps, was fascinating.

Lungile served our delicious meals. She was always courteous and happy. George took us on the boat trip onto the lakes . He is well versed in the history and heritage of the area. His keen eye spotted monitor lizards , identified various bird species and even flora in the lake system.
