Imvomvo Country Lodge and Conference Center — Hotel in Umzimvubu Local Municipality

On Saturday the 25 December 2021 I called this place on the cellphone that is on their website making a booking for Monday the 27 December 2021. I spoke to a gentleman called Gugulethu and he told me that there was nobody in the office but I can send the WhatsApp on the same number and booking will be arranged. I sent the WhatsApp as requested and immediately called to confirm. I specifically mentioned that I am attending a wedding with my wife and requested to be booked their best room available. On Sunday I called again to follow up and I was told that my booking is confirmed. On Monday the 27 December as I landed at King Shaka airport I called to confirm my reservation and I was told to pay as confirmation. I was told that all the other rooms are taken and there are only standard rooms available. On arrival the staff at work seemed not to be sure of my booking and I showed them my proof of payment. I was told that I was going to sleep in room 7 and the security was only concerned about me moving my car to the parking which I did. When I came back to collect the key the same security asked me if I knew where my room was and I told him that I have not even received the keys to my room. The two ladies seemed not to be knowing which room I was going to sleep in and eventually I was taken to room 4. On arrival in the room (at approximately 18:30) the room was not ready. there was still staff left by the previous client, there was still food left overs in the fridge and there were no utensils like the kettle and the cups. There were no towels, no toilet paper and no blankets. All that was arranged and the lady apologized for the inconvenience and offered us a breakfast on the house. There is currently a function in the hall and the residents here are very inconsiderate. They are moving up and down the corridor making noise and slamming doors. At 01:15 am I approached them and humbly requested them to please not make noise as we were trying to sleep and they just ignored me. It is now 02:25 in the morning and the party still continues in the hall. What has happened to the curfew and the COVID 19 Protocols? The location in Maps is incorrect. I googled the place and it took me to a different town. When I called the venue, they struggled to give directions. Don't travel there at night if you're from out of town. You will get lost. There are no signs for people unfamiliar with the place. There was only one staff member for assistance at night, he tried his best. After an hour of searching, I got to the place at around 11pm. The gate was open with no security. It's only during the day on my way out that I met security. Rooms are quite tight, with not much space. Don't travel at night to this place if you are not from there........I had booked for family but came on my own. I would have hated for this to happen with my family. They also separate rooms for a family travelling together which is ridiculous. So I'd say not...

The place has so much potential, however, our experience was not so good. We had to fix the broken rail curtains, slept on torn sheets, door not opening, not given the towels until we requested. Upon requesting the towels, to our dismay, we given old mixed colors, greenish and browniish disgusting old towels that I wouldn't even use in my own house. The security is absolutely very poor as the gates are open on a 24Hout basis. That for me was very alarming given the crime rate of our country. I then, requested that our linen to be cleaned or exchanged and was, I was told that linen does not get changed everyday and it's their policy 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.
