Blue Sea Guest house Closed — Hotel in Vincent, East London

The below is based on the stay me and my friend had there last week:

Parking spaces set out uncomfortably and cannot get out when parked in the far right bay. We were unable to check in as cleaning was still being done even though it was after 2pm. Bins black bag wasn't put in and secondary bedroom was still being cleaned.

Door doesn't have a proper lock. Makeshift lock added

No privacy when wanting sunlight in lounge due to no curtain lace on front door and windows or tinting. No windows to open on front of place either

Couldn't use wet drying off cloth which smelt like cheese. Dishes packed in cupboard wet and looked nasty (water stains).

Floors were dirty. Walked barefeet and had ashy residue under feet within a few steps. Was clearly not mopped.

No iron and board.

No steak knives or any type of sharp knives to eat with.

We were told late that we couldn't have any visitors whatsoever which was not mentioned when we initially booked. Visitors can't even pop in for an hour and they'll need to pay R250 which is the stay over rate. Ridiculous

Access to bathroom is through main bedroom. Privacy inconvenience for person in main room

Tiny bottle of dishwashing liquid provided which was up in 3 uses. Previous establishment gave a whole bottle

Bin cupboard stinks and needs to be cleaned. Dirty cupboards especially by toaster.

Door to lobby in secondary bedroom. Lots of noise through the day filtering into room. No hanging area for clothes, no plug near bed, no bedside lamp or table,

Main bedroom has no net on curtain hence no privacy when you need light. No bedside table or lamp either

Tiny bathroom with shelves that you collide with constantly when using basin or shower. Noisy extractor fan. Weak water pressure in shower. Small shower with door that doesn't close properly. No shower mats or towels, had to walk on dirty floor after showering

WiFi is very slow

Someone accessed our place after we left at about 2pm Monday 8/1/2024. The person just tidied the couch, washed our 2 glasses and put them wet in the cupboard (same as they had done on arrival), opened the toilet window. They never bothered mopping the dirty floors and neither did they replace our towels with fresh ones as the owner stated they would.

Shockingly dirty windows, toilet not cleaned on a daily basis, sour and stinky dish towl and sponge upon arrival. I had to remove as it made the whole room smell. All windows were also shut when we arrived which left the room very musty smelling. Visibly dirty pillow cases with black and brown marks. The bedding also smells of mildew, especially the inner duvet. Owner refused to change the duvet for a fresh one owing to moisture and humidity. No aircon which could improve that situation but linen also needs to dry properly before it is used and keep fresh stock for rainy days. I felt that excuses were made and we were just dismissed. I also don't believe the friendliness is really genuine. A comment made about other guests being "trash" and "animals" for smoking outside the units gives clear insight about what the owner really thinks of people. The setup outside is lovely and close to the ocean. But sorry, that interaction made us so uncomfortable we won't...

Had the worst experience. We stayed in room 4. The room was dirty, there was dirt in the shower (black stuff coming from corners of the shower) and completely rusty. The bathroom sink wasn't draining and when Joan came to fix it he never bothered to clean after himself. It was 2 of us and yet the 2nd bed had a pillow with no cover. The cupboards are dirty. No wifi though they advertise that its available. No one came to clean our room for the whole 4 days we stayed there and we had no tissue last 2 days of our stay. The shower is dirty and so rusty. No security whatsoever. I would never...
