Happy Home - Imhoffs Gift — Hotel in Western Cape

We booked this accommodation thinking it was a complete home we would be renting. It was a slight over sight on our behalf. It stated shared bathroom, we understood this to mean that the 2 rooms we had booked would share a bathroom. ||||We were arriving from abroad with 2 kids, plus having our animals flown over too the day after our arrival, so as it was a "pet friendly" place we thought it would be ideal.||||We had a very friendly greeting from the manager and upon arrival we quickly realised that we were sharing the house with a number of other guests, some downstairs, some up stairs, some in seemed what we thought was part of the garage, and we and our kids were also sharing our bathroom with the lady who was managing the property. ||||The garden (& parts of the driveway) were full of dog poo, the ashtrays that were around the place were full and the smell carried. The 1st morning I woke up to onions being fried as our bedrooms were next to the shared...

||I don't even want to give one star. Please do not stay here. The place is not what it seems to be - Tripadvisor's rating is NOT accurate and completely misleading. And after approaching the property they did not want to consider a refund. If you stay here it is on you. Reasons: The place is extremely dirty. The coffee machine had left over coffee in the filter that had mould on it. The coffee stations in the rooms were last cleaned ages ago. It is not equipped as a guest house, it has a shared bathroom, meaning you share with other people staying in the house full time. So is also the kitchen shared by everybody in the house. The room smelled of cigarette smoke - all of the linen and curtains...

I am not very happy with this place att all! Service was ok nothing to write home about but we didnt expect much as it's a guesthouse! The room is ok the TV we needed a magnifying glass to view anything and the basin in the bathroom is way to small! The warm water wasn't turned on when we got there and that was only done when we asked! The power meter ran out and we were without power for some time! Poor planning if you ask me! And then the dogs....well I don't mind dogs overall but why keep dogs at a guesthouse and the one barks allot for no reason! The blanket wasn't great either. I would not rate this as a 3 star...
