Mount Bay — Hotel in Western Cape

We (a family of four) had a very nice time at Mountbay, the apartment is bright, well equipped and spacious. Beds are good and comfy. If you need anything, Clinton (the caretaker) is just a whatsapp message away. Clinton brought a bottle of South African bubbly when richard and himself came to know that I was celebrating my 55th birthday, a well appreciated gesture! Cleaning and exchange of towels and bedlinnen is arranged every other couple of days. Parking is easy, onsite and along the road. Views are great on the surrounding mountains. A place with great potential! We had a good time staying here, but the room we stayed in (Angkor) does need a bit of an update. I think this room could benefit from new pillows, the current pillows are very uncomfortable & there aren’t enough of them for the size of the bed. The crockery needs a bit of an update too. I also think this place could benefit from a front of house person. Naomi, the housekeeper, is wonderful and lovely though! The water-pressure in the bathroom needs some attention too, it starts off quite strong and then slows down to a trickle. Those are my only suggestions! We had a night from hell trying to book in somewhere descent for the weekend. Third time lucky thanks to Richard! He was the most welcoming host. Booking us into his property so late on a Friday evening. We booked into the family room and it was absolutely spectacular! The unit is decorated so tastefully and has everything you need and more. To top it all off you have a view of the mountains from everywhere - even in the shower! We had an amazing stay and we will most definitely stay here again when in Hout Bay.
