I've stayed at the Spade three times since it opened. Twice for a social stay and the most recent stay was for a conference. I can honestly not claim my stays to be anything short of exceptional. My first stay was a few days after the hotel opened. My most recent stay was 4 days and and 4 nights long. Both times were exceptional even with the increased demand of a conference. The staff are super friendly and a pleasure to have around. Absolutely respectful of guests and super efficient. The service is impeccable and the environment is very welcoming and hospitable. We hosted some friends during our stay who opted to stay over that evening because of the welcoming environment. They also have a great concierge service that makes navigating Khayelitsha a breeze. More important most of the staff is made up of people from the area and surrounding areas. The owners are also super hands on and always working to improve the customer service. Very well done to the staff...
Read moreI booked this hotel through TripAdvisor on October 22, 2022 for November 23-24 2022 and received a confirmation email from The Spade boutique hotel and dpo group for $ 1,260.00 ZAR which google says is $71.08 USD on October 22. On October 31, 22 I received an email from the hotel stating that I had already visited on October 22 which is when I actually booked the hotel. I reached out via email because I was confused on why they said I had already stayed there. There was constant email communication and the staff began asking for information that was already given when booked (and in earlier parts of thread). Fast forward to day of, we canât get into our room because thereâs nothing available. Iâve been working with my bank who seems to be useless and now Iâm at mercy of the merchant (spade boutique)..
I would stay FAR away from this hotel if I were you or at least use a bank that looks out for...
Read moreThe hotel is beautiful, rooms are big and well maintained. As soon as you get inside the hotel you forget that is Khayelitsha, itâs very nice. The menu needs to be updated coz we paid more than what was priced on the menu, rooms were not fully ready when we got there e.g no carpets, we had to keep asking for things. We spent the weekend and Sinethemba did his job exceptionally well. He served us with respect and attended to all of our needs. The last day however the services wasnât so great from another âlight complectioned âshort guy with a cut, I forgot his name. He had a stinking attitude. Itâs as if he didnât want to serve us. He was rude and not doing what heâs asked for. We are a bunch of non-problematic ladies so I didnât expect that. Itâs not the 1st time going there and itâs definitely not my last. You need to improve here and there otherwise It was a...
