Shane made us feel welcome from the very moment we arrived at Fraaigelegen Farm. After he briefed us properly about our two night stay, we headed out to the camp site. Once we secured ourselves a suitable spot, we setup camp.||||Shane doesn't allow too many campers on his property at the same time, and we appreciated the fact that my wife and I shared the campsite with only one other family.||||We were also given our own bathroom for the duration of our stay, which made our experience even more unique and special. Although we wouldn't have minded to share the facilities, we appreciated the fact that Shane went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.||||Previous reviews spoke of being able to hear the traffic, but maybe that depends on how the wind blows, but our stay was quiet and peaceful, with the odd sound of an airplane, but not so loud that it bothered us in any way, or woke us up during the night.||||There are two Bomas on the campsite, and we used the one closest to us, while the other family used the other Boma closest to them. There are also a proper braai grid in the Boma to braai your meat, but my wife and I took our own portable braai with us, and chose to have a nice bonfire the second evening.||||Just a mighty nice experience we had, with absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The only thing that is worth mentioning is the condition of the gravel road. Those that don't have a 4x4 vehicle might want to be very careful as there were some rocky areas that could damage the underside of your car. Other than that, everything...

Venishree sent us all kinds of tips, information, fun activities and more that we can do while staying here.
When our gps kicked and lead us up this road in Tulbagh, we were giddy with excitement. Look at those mountains! They are insanely beautiful and big, the more we drove the bigger they got! The picturesque cottage we stayed in for 4 days was absolutely magical. Set on @fraaigelegen_farm owned by Venishree & Juergen. We received whatsapps on our journey to ensure we found the right track and to check on us. It felt like we arrived home to family.
A beautiful honesty basket was in our cottage filled with their own olive oil, olives and delicious jams and jellies from local friends.
We braai'd, had an indoor fireplace, a view of the growing grapes and olives nearby, cheeky peacock ruling over his domain....we have fallen in love with the farm, with Tulbagh and with all the friendly people of this area.
Veni & Juergen we will be back! Hopefully for longer and with our 3 boys. Thank you for being amazing hosts and sharing your wealth of...

Camp Site review. A small and more private campsite in the Tulbagh countryside.
Pros: Jason the host was great in his communication leading up to and during our stay. He was friendly and a great host. The campsite is fenced. It is a site for the more peaceful of campers. There is a good chance you have the site to yourself. The site has braai areas, a good, clean ablution block, a kitchen area, and electricity. The ablution block is split in two so that two groups of campers have their own bathroom. Beautiful mountain views at opposite ends with an olive grove to the side. The farm also has vineyards and a dam for swimming.
Cons: Cell phone reception is spotty. You can hear a bit of a buzz from the highway. The campsite lawn has somewhat of a slope and isn’t...
