This review is about the Therapy Center and not the hotel as a whole. I was thrilled to discover a truly unique way to relax after a planned Hallasan hike. According to their official website the Resort's Therapy Center offers a 4 step health program including Aquatonic, Aerosol Course, Hay Bath and Herb Garden. The price, 45,000₩. Awesome. I called to book like the website said I should do. Their "English speaking" staff was not as fluent as they assured me, and it took me about 10 minutes and $5 to book over the phone. The price had also increased to 50,000₩, but no big deal. The day of our hike was rainy so we were not able to climb Hallasan, but we still looked forward to unwinding in such a special way. We arrived and everything seemed to be as expected. Our therapist guide spoke English that was barely understandable but combined with his gestures, we were able to figure it out. The first step, Aquatonic, was a water massage in a pool. Very nice, relaxing and we enjoyed it very much. The water was a bit warm so my girlfriend could not stay in for the full 30 minutes but I managed. Step 2 was the Hay Bath. I wondered about to the Aerosol Course, especially since I saw an area designated "Aerosol Shower" but I thought maybe it would be later. The Hay Bath was... interesting. Sounds of birds and a beach (which honestly sounded more like passing traffic than waves on a shore) made us feel very sleepy. Plus the heat, after about 25 or 30 minutes, we were both drenched in sweat. So onto step 3... nope, no Step 3, that's it. Finished. No Step 3 or Step 4. Done. "Go shower in the sauna and you can go home" I though maybe there was a miscommunication but nope, that's it. So after my shower I asked the receptionist and after a few minutes and finding someone who could explain it well enough in English, I was told that the information on their official website was old and that the new program was 2 steps... for more money. Utter disappointment. Their current program is not worth the money. If you don't offer the service anymore, remove it from your...
Read moreGreat resort if you travel in large numbers or with family. The resort has been there for years so the rooms are outdated but clean, spacious and comfortable. We were in 2 bedroom apartment with beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, stove, fridge and etc. The room had the mountain view from the lounge windows. I believe it will be pretty much same for most of the rooms due to the resort's location. ||||Do not expect ocean/beach resort style. There are not many things to do around the resort except for Jeolmul native forest. That's why I recommend for groups in a large number. I personally liked it since it's quiet and peaceful. Being away from city centre and having mountain and trees around was relaxing. ||||There are a convenient store, karaoke, gaming room, sauna and massage therapist. My mom had the full body massage therapy which comes with hay bath and sauna access(after the therapy) and she enjoyed it. I and my family had the dinner in the restaurant on 1st floor. We've chosen the set menu and was well-worth the money. Nice variety of vegetables, seafood and BBQ pork. ||||All the staff were friendly and helpful from reservations, restaurant, reception and massage therapy. I speak Korean so unsure about the communicational difficulties that's mentioned in some of the comments below. Although, it's quite obvious that the mainstream guests are domestic families looking at the facilities, room types...
Read moreI am here with my mom as part of the tour group we joined, it look more of a apartments for rents than a resort or a hotel, no room service, no cleaning (except change of towel if you leave them on the floor), asked for a room with 2 beds, but got a queen size bed instead, so I had to sleep on the floor(I move alot while I sleep, so....), it has no basic amities, no tooth brush and no tooth paste and not even shower soup and shampoos, towels are small, no decorations at all in this so called resort, even YMCA looks more atttactive, as there is nothing nearby, the TV in the room is the only source of entertainment at night, but it only has two english channel(but only if it was showing a english speaking movie). There is a couple of arcade rooms with old video games and a karaoke place within the resort, but seem too Korean to any foreigners.|The bar they hace here is actually a very basic coffee shop, it only has beers and fizzy drinks.|The good side is the staffs here are very nice, always smile and willing to help. It has a mini market which allow you to buy stuffs to cook at your room(the rooms have small kitchen) and your other needs.|Almost forgot, it dose have a very quiet surrounding, but the walls are so thin, I can hear ppl talking next room or at the corridor, I can hear the stumbling noise from above......|It maybe a good short get away for some, but I would...
