The best thing about the hotel is the view of the lake. Every room has a balcony facing the lake. The room itself smelled like mildew. It appeared to be clean, but had some stains on the carpet and needed some repairs in the bathroom. The bathroom was a very poor design. You have to step up into the shower and the water gets all over the floor.||||Some of the employees at the hotel spoke some English. We had trouble getting our room cleaned. It seems that they won't knock if they think you are in the room. I would definitely recommend hanging the sign on the door to have it cleaned.||||Key must be in the holder just inside the door for electricity to work. There is a keypad on the door knob in case you want to leave the key while you are out.||||We had breakfast included with our room (I think you have to pay a little extra). The breakfast was mostly American food with some Korean food. It was pretty good, but exactly the same everyday. ||||We tried the Japanese restaurant. Cost ranges from 35-99 per person set menu without drinks. It was traditional Japanese. Lots of sushi, soups, seafood, a lot of food. It was very well presented and what I ate was good. ||||Things to do within walking distance: Observation Platform (go left from hotel entrance and walk a short distance), Angel-in-us coffee (go right, straight down the hill), zoo (go right, veer left at the first fork in the road and you will see it down the hill- a very small, sad zoo). You can get a taxi in town for cheap 5 USD and 10 min. in town. Pick up a tourist map. It is helpful for pointing if you don't speak the language. Check out: underground mall, Jinju fortress, and silk outlet across street. I do not recommend "antique row" that was on tourist maps.||||Overall, this isn't a hotel I would have picked or city to visit either. Much better places to stay in South Korea,...
Read moreWhat a gorgeous place to come and relax with good food, drinks, and friends! This hotel is located on a cliff next to the prettiest lake in Jinju. It is a bit hidden, but there is parking available. Even from the parking lot, the view took my breath away, and once we went inside it was even more beautiful. You walk down a hallway or dark wood to the concierge and it fells like a country club atmosphere. We opted to sit outside for the dinner buffet, and I'm so happy we did because the view was magnificent and I could barely focus on the food! Speaking of the food... wow! What a great spread. Ribs, steak, pork, veggies, sushi, salads, fruits, and more! There is a huge wood fired grill in the middle of the buffet where the cook was preparing and grilling meats, putting off an absolutely mouthwatering smell! Not to mention free beer! It's the cheap Korean beer, but hey... free. After we finished eating we went upstairs to the bar for some cocktails. Their menu is rather limited and they don't seem comfortable to step out of their comfort zone so keep that in mind. I asked for an old-fashioned and they wouldn't make it. All in all a great experience, I will be going...
Read moreWith this being my first stop-over in Korea, I truly enjoyed the sun rising over the lake, a view that would without the time-difference remain hidden for me. Gorgeous!||||We had dinner in the japanese style restaurant (would not comment otherwise on quality as it was organised by our Korean hosts, but it was crisp/fresh and lovely). The Continental breakfast was shunned in favour of the Asian every day and we were happy.||||Rooms were okay, but the hotel (as fantastic as it is to enjoy the view, it is quite an architectural crime to the landscape) could also use an upgrade. 2 day stay only, so limited other insights. But -- this is probably the most impressive and serene location just...
