The Suites Hotel Namwon — Hotel in Namwon-si

We together with a few friends stayed in this hotel last week because it is close to Jirisan where we went hiking. It's about 40 minutes away by car.||||We booked 4 rooms. My garden view room on the 4th floor has raised heated floor, two queen size beds, closet, writing desk and a small pantry with a kettle. Teabags and coffee were provided. The bathroom is huge, with separate cubicles for the toilet, bathtub and shower with basic toiletries. It's clean, spacious, warm and comfortable.||||The only problem we had was most of the staff did not speak English although they were all very courteous and polite. Maybe its guests are mostly locals.||||We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. There we were surprised to find a very pleasant helpful English speaking waitress, Chloe Seo. Nothing was too much trouble. Her assistance in helping us with what to order changed our impression of the hotel immensely as there were not many choices on the menu. In the end we enjoyed our meal of Korean vegetable rice and beef barbecue at a reasonable price. She also told us about the buffet breakfast. Lots of fruits, salads, pastries, hot and cold dishes. We spent about 20 US dollars each (not included in the room price) to fill up our stomach before we headed out for the day.||||Overall, we were very happy...

We stayed in the royal suite and really enjoyed it. The suite is very very large, with an expansive living room and dining room, plus an office area and a small kitchen area, but no stove top.

The suite has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The master bedroom alone is over 1000 SQ ft. We especially liked the expansive balconies and windows, which line the entire living room/dining room area and the master bedroom. The easy to use shade controls allow you to open one or all of the window shades in a particular area. The entire suite has floor heating and there are 4 overhead A/C units. Unlike some hotels in Korea, we were able to use the A/Cs and venting even in the spring time.

A 2-burner stove top and apartment size refrigerator would be a good addition. Wish list for our next stay!

Very quiet and nice. Nearby walking paths along the river and a 2-5km trail up into the hills. Lots of parking and very friendly and helpful front desk staff. No bell service,. however for...

Nice hotel with a beautiful view and a nice garden. If your room is at the back you'll see the garden but is also the dark side of the building since the sun is on the front side. |Watch carefully with booking: a western room with beds or the deluxe family room which is Korean style with mats to sleep on. Rooms are very big though!|The breakfast buffet which is mentioned in an earlier review is only held on Sundays! All the other days it's Korean breakfast a la carte. You can then choose between 4 different hangover soups. |To eat or drink in the hotel is expensive. Prices go up to 3 times as much as in town. Namwon itself is not much fun or exciting. ||Good place to stay a night or two, with very friendly staff and nice rooms. But to be honest I expected more of it after reading the...
