Stay Duration - 24th (midnight) - 27th (morning), October 2023 Location:
The resort is very far from all tourist places, with an approximate travel time of 50 minutes to 1.5 hours. If your intention is to stay in the place and enjoy the view, go for it. However, if you plan to visit tourist places, please do not choose it because it's tough to get a taxi, and the restaurant here closes around 7, so arrange dinner beforehand (don’t take this point lightly).
Resort Look and Feel:
The resort offers an amazing view of tangerine groves and mountains. We opted for a 3BHK, but the rooms were still way too small. The bathroom was very small. The hot water went off in 3 hours, so we had to take a cold shower. The kitchen was set up nicely with utensils. It's suitable if you are okay with staying in small rooms; however, we were okay only because of the amazing sitting area.
Service: If I could give a rating in the minus, I would do that.
We reached the hotel at midnight because our flight got delayed from Busan. Also, it was our first time in South Korea, and partly due to language issues, we couldn’t get a taxi on time, and people were unsure about the address.
The taxi person was amazing and made us feel safe (we were three girls traveling from India). He dropped our luggage at the entrance, and we called the owner.
We got scared because he was initially very angry at us for coming this late (as if deliberately planned on coming late). He didn't help us with the luggage (my foot was injured; I had sprained my ankle), so we carried our luggage and went inside the beautiful house.
He was explaining the AC system and other things, but his accent was too fast for us to understand. So we asked him a couple of times to explain. He got upset and said, “These foreigners, I can’t deal with them.” We felt like we were disturbing him, so we told him it's okay; we will manage.
Late at night, we realized we didn’t have water inside the room, and all three of us couldn't ask him because it was late, so we just went to sleep.
The next morning, I woke up and went to the reception area, and it was empty. Then I went to the backside of this little cafe space; it was closed. I found one lady and asked for water; she gave me two bottles. I told her we are three people, but she didn't listen.
We started our day and went for sightseeing. By this time, we thought they would at least provide drinking water again. At 8 pm, we came back, and I asked the owner for drinking water. He looked angry and denied the water, saying, “You have to bring your own water.” We were stunned by that time. So, we arranged a taxi and got water bottles.
From that time until our stay was over, we never tried to have any conversation with him.
When we were traveling back in the morning, we thought at least we should say goodbye and greet him. I went there, and I was about to say goodbye, but that guy saw me and shut the door. I felt like crying almost.
I initially thought I wouldn’t write a review, and here I am writing after a month because if you are planning to stay there just for the view, pre-arrange...
Read moreOwner was abusive and was swearing at us. Confirmed by Agoda and we arrived at 5pm as instructed to arrive after 3pm for check in. Walked around 3 times and the whole place was empty other than 1 car in the carpark whom we assumed was just another guest. Even though we shouted out to see if anybody was around nobody answered. We tried to call the number on the website, but couldn’t connect. There was no reception area, no building had open doors. We had no instructions given to us. After 15 minutes we figured out which house we were supposed to stay in and let our selves in since there was nobody around nor contact. Then another 15 minutes the owner came out screaming and swearing at us. He accused us of breaking in without his permission. We explained that nobody answered us. He said he was there the whole time. He asked why we didn’t call. We showed him we tried calling but there was no answer and he said the number was incorrect but it was the number in his website. He didn’t even know that there was a paid booking. He kept arguing but the whole place has cctv which shows that we walked around several times trying to contact somebody. After he realised that it was his mistake for not even knowing he had bookings he settled down and explained the interior and light switches. He never apologised. I understand how it might have looked like we intruded on his premises when he didn’t know he had a booking, I don’t think it’s appropriate for anybody to behave like that even after we told him we paid and had a booking. If we hadn’t paid already we definitely would not have stayed there. We were the only people that stayed there those 2 days. We were excited to stay in a hanok and paid more to have the experience, but to be honest, we should have stayed at a place closer to the city centre for a...
Read moreMy adult son and I wanted to be out of the city and chose Canopus Pension due to the pictures. Each building is in the style of old Korean housing and is a small apartment. They are very charming and clean. You are surrounded by Orange trees and fresh air. My son had his own area to sleep, as did I. This is not your typical hotel. There are very nice down mats, comforters and pillows to sleep on the floor. The floor is heated. There is a TV that we were able to watch movies. We found a game of Go-Stop, and learned to play. Nice screens that pull across each doorway, to let on breeze and keep out bugs. ||There is a stove top, kettle to heat water, rice cooker and fridge in the unit. There is a CU (Like a convenience store)near by, but not close enough to walk to. We called in food for delivery first night since it was late. |Each unit has a bathroom that has a convertible shower head attached to sink to shower. There is a sauna building that has public showers and the biggest tubs I've ever seen. ||We ended up taking taxi most of the time to and from the pension. There is bus that runs and stops at the corner with a short 7 min. walk to pension. ||Overall we had a nice time. If you want something a little different, out in the country and slower pace. This is a...
