J Raum — Hotel in Seogwipo-si

DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A CAR - I learnt the hard way!

I didn't realise how remote this hotel was. I didn't rent a car and used the bus to get here. It is 1.5km from the nearest bus stop. Taxis would not come and collect me (they always looked really far away on taxi apps). The nearest shop is 1.5km away so 3km round trip. There is a pig bbq place around the corner but they don't sell to solo travellers because they only sell larger portions (understandable).

They helpfully let me borrow a bicycle. The bicycle feels like an afterthought though. It's just a bike they have lying around that they let you use. It had mould on it and was very old.

The rooms are clean and nice. I actually rate the rooms because I stayed in other places in Jeju that had issues with damp. These apartments were probably built around 10-20 years ago so are quite modern. The only issue I had was that there are no USB charging ports on the plugs. This didn't used to be an issue but I did not have a Korean adapter unfortunately so couldn't charge my phone - which added to my stress. Luckily they sold them at the shop.

It is very remote, which can be nice, but ultimately caused me a lot of stress. When I asked to check out a day early they would not refund me - which I understand but the whole experience left me slightly annoyed by this hotel - especially because the reason i booked it was Booking.com...

Absolutely love my stay here with my husband! Such a peaceful area. Clean and comfortable room, friendly hosts. I would choose this place anytime over a chaotic city! You would need a car to get around but it’s still possible without one. Convenient store 1km away, still fairly walkable. Bbq restaurant behind the hotel where you can feed horses! 5min walking distance! Sea view from your room where you can even sight dolphins and stork birds. They have bbq grill you can rent for 20kW but beware of cute naughty kitties!!!

Feedback to the resort owners, I love the cats and they add charm to the place but perhaps neuter them as they seem to be multiplying and fighting. Let’s be real, those are no longer stray cats anymore. They are definitely part of...

We got a room that was sea facing, and it was simple and clean. Basic amenities are provided, except toothbrush. Room was clean and in good condition. Do look out for beautiful sunsets while you are there. Fortunately we made it as we only check-in after 5pm (due to our schedule).||There's a nice balcony to chill on and bbq pits that you can book in advance. Parking is available on site too as you probably need to drive to be able to get to this place. It's about a 40mins drive from Love Land...
