Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Suwon — Hotel in Suwon-si

Stayed here 150+ nights over 10 months, and can't say enough good things about this hotel, how it's managed, and every single employee! Service is perfect in every aspect, rooms are nice (the only problem that I've had that wasn't solved is that in the winter some rooms are consistently too hot -require opening the windows in the winter-, others too cold; a little warmer than you might expect in the summer, but not a problem), lounge is comfortable for work and its food usually good and definitely plentiful. It's exceptionally well managed, everything is made to simplify your business travel, and every single employee that I've had the pleasure to interact with over this long period was professional, effective and friendly (a few felt like family :-)). Don't hesitate for a second if you're in Suwon for business (they'll likely help you get to work too!). Its location is good, even though I haven't found much to eat that I liked within walking distance. It's 10 minutes by taxi to Ingyedong, 12 minutes to Suwon Station (W5500). Room prices are reasonable with rooms themselves being relatively large in comparison to other surrounding hotels. The room cleaning service was great. There is also a mini fridge with stocked drinks (at a price) as well as a safe.

The breakfast buffet is nice with a wide selection of food choices to choose from such as sausage, noodles, cooked to order omelettes, a couple of vegetarian dishes, salmon fillets, pastries, etc.

The Executive lounge is just ok and definitely a little dated feeling (however that's to be expected with older hotels). It did not seem that many people visited the lounge when I went, but then again I did not frequent it either.

The hotel location is not exactly close to the metro/subway station, however it is relatively close to a bus station and in the mornings has taxis (only premium taxis in the morning which cost a little more than regular ones).

There is also a washing/drying machine room in the newer wing (not the main building). There are 3 washers, 3 dryers, and a ice machine in the room. There is no sitting room and it does get relatively hot in the room.

Multiple issues handled awfully. Heating didn't work. Called reception, was told heating is only on after midnight, and they brought a space heater - good. Midnight comes and heating still doesn't work. When issue is raised again, they tell us heating doesn't work anywhere in hotel, and that sun will heat the room during the day, we were offered a space heater again. When pressed the issue, we were given another room - heating magically worked there.

We were off for early flight, so we requested breakfast in a bag, vegetarian. Knowing the culture, we made sure they understood what we mean. They even wrote it down. The bag contained sandwiches with bacon and also ham.

Overall impression: it looks nice, everyone is dressed well and keeps politely nodding, but if there's anything off the script, they just want to avoid the problem rather than deal with it. I don't mind lack of understanding of english, but I do mind when someone pretends or lies just to nake the...
