Tldr: Came here for one night 11/30-12/1. My review is mixed. Nice hotel room. Sad amenities. Kills luxury vibe if they are trying for that.
Review: I like how it is spacious and the overall materials used feels pleasant with ambient lighting and the use of stone. It also felt clean but not sparkling. Maybe motel level?
The resort hotel is a palatial campus and the hotel lobby is lovely, with soaring ceilings, stone everything, great lighting. The outside does have a slight Las Vegas vibe at night with a lot of lights.
However the room lacks conditioner, lotion, and has shampoo and body wash only for amenities. The towels are the size of handtowels and each guest gets 2 or 3. If you want more they charge you 500won. Also there no top sheets on the bed. The duvet cover is all and they say they wash it every time a guest uses but it does feel strange. Maybe it’s cultural?
There are no USB outlets anywhere. There are no complimentary waters or coffee. No complimentary anything and the handsoap looks new but it is not wrapped. I did like the smell.
I feel like they are trying to be luxurious with their brand and the external hotel vibe but when they are being cheap with the amenities it doesn't feel very luxury. The breakfast buffet is 35000 won per person. They tried to upsell me an ocean view for 22000 won. Just all these little things kind of cheapened the experience.
It was nice to have a full kitchen because we came in the winter a lot of the restaurants were closed by 6pm. But the kettle was a little dirty.
The shower had great water pressure. I guess if you come here. Bring your own amenities and a sheet and towel. But wait, I thought the whole point of a hotel was to have these things.
Also there is no security at the lobby floor of the building i was at. I felt safe but if that matters to you anyone could come in and have acces to any floor without a card or proof of being a guest.
Thank god, I got a deal on the room because I would have been upset. Also if they werent cheap with the amenities, I would have stayed...
Read moreWent for the day to enjoy the Infinity Pool with some of my friends. The pool is very nice and relaxing, but the only chairs there are to enjoy are only available for rental. There are no lounge chairs available that don't require being paid for. Also, the only signs that say anything about rentals are in Korean only, so we had no way of knowing that we had to rent a chair.
We then went to enjoy lunch at the Pub Brewery. Again, the menu was only in Korean, so I had to sit with my phone translator to figure out what was on the menu.
Living on the island of Jindo I expected this resort to bring in more tourism both local and International. Unfortunately, it seems as though they are only wanting to cater to local Korean visitors.
I hope Sol Beach Hotel & Resort will take some of this into consideration. I very much enjoyed my time in the pool. It was lovely to be able to rest and relax. I just wish there were chairs that my friends and I could have used without having to pay more money on top of what we had already paid to use...
Read moreI stayed in a condo-type room where I could cook. We didn't choose a place with a good view, so our room was a view of the parking lot. However, with an additional 20,000 won, I could stay in a room with good prospects. There were several buildings in the Sol Beach resort, but they were all comfortable because there were roads within the building. On that road, I could go to the convenience store, swimming pool, sauna, game room, karaoke, restaurant, and so on. ||We cooked dinner in the room, and it was convenient because they prepared dishes such as pot and frying pan. It also has two rooms, three beds and one sofa, so it can accommodate many people. TV, dressing table, dryer, and toiletries were all ready, so it was very comfortable. One inconvenience is that there was no sponge. So it was uncomfortable to wash the dishes. ||There is a shuttle bus from Jindo Terminal to Sol Beach. It is recommended that people who do not use their own car. Check the time well and use the shuttle bus. I didn't know this so the taxi fare...
