Finca la Fronda — Hotel in Alájar

So many travellers whom we talked to during our 17 days stay , that frequent this beautiful oasis nestled in the hills of Aracena and who like us came to enjoy a stay in this almost stately yet welcoming Spanish home were ecstatic about their visit . The Finca has large rooms each with a private patio, beautiful grounds , common areas and swimming pool much as described on their website. Not only for the ambiance and breath taking nature setting but even more for the never ceasing smiles of Christina and her ever attentive offer to help your hikes or visit to the region become a most memorable experience. The Finca is a family affair mornings for Christina and the afternoon /evenings shift manned by Alec with his many but foremost culinary talents by every night creating a true dining experience for us and our gluten and lactose intolerant daughter. So much appreciated ! We travel not so much for relaxation or to recharge our energy but more to experience the most an area and it’s people have to offer. There are great hikes right out of this property. See for yourself what a jewel this area has to offer for the avid hiker/naturalist but above all to come home after a good wander to Finca La Fronda is all you can want in a stay. Beautiful cottage in the most amazing surroundings. It blends with the forest and the construction is divine. Cottage sleeps 6 pax with two double beds bedrooms and 1 room with two single beds. 2 bathrooms both in the top floor. We had cold weather so we were not able to sit in their stunning terrace overlooking the bush. Mattresses very comfortable , we cannot say the same about their pillows, way too soft and uncomfortable. The day of arrival I moved one of the beds against the wall for my baby not to fall and found a lot of dirt, tissues, a scarf and even a little car underneath. Not very pleasant when you expect a four star place. We never managed to work the kitchen extractor, asked the owners on WhatsApp but never got an answer. Important to say the extractor was full of grease and very sticky. I have attached some pictures. We did speak to the manager about the cleaning issues and he seemed very annoyed and insisted that his cleaners were very good, not the response we expected at all due to the fact that we had taken pictures and given him propf of the lack on f cleaning. You feel the serenity the moment you stepped out of the car into this boutique accommodation. The bedroom is large, beautifully designed & so restful and well maintained. Both Cristina & Alec are so attentive, ensuring that your stay will be exceptional. The living room and dinning room are open throughout the day, well stocked and works on trust & integrity. The living room is cosy, warm and inviting ....... to read 📖, to drink 🍸 or simply to chill or just to enjoy the surroundings. We booked for a night 🌙 but ended up staying 4 nights. Dinner prepared by Alec was excellent, we had dinner 🍽 on all 4 nights and every meal really polished our taste buds.
