We had an amazing 10 days staying in La Tortuga with our 5 year old children. The pool is fantastic with plenty of opportunity to find a shady spot when the sun is too much! Note that the pool is deep throughout so noodles or equivalent required if your children are not confident swimmers. The approach is very narrow so take out the excess insurance on your hire car as you will almost certainly scratch it at some point! We enjoyed a trip to Aracena to see the caves... A must! There is air con in the bedrooms when required however most of the time the houses stay a comfortable temperature despite the outside heat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and spent a lot of time just playing in the pool and using the other facilities such as the tennis court and table tennis. The owners also were more than happy to get some shopping in for us as we were arriving late on a Sunday which was most helpful - we just emailed a list! We will definitely return again at some point.... Perhaps when we can come without the children and enjoy the...
Read moreMy husband and I booked a 3-night stay at Los Molinos and loved every minute. ||||The scenery and local area is beautiful - very remote and relaxing. The cottage itself was full of character and charm, with underfloor heating and open log fires. The bedroom was comfortable and we felt like we had found a perfect countryside retreat. We even took the owners’ dogs on long walks and paid for the welcome dinner on our first evening (delicious and highly recommended!). We also had fresh bread and breakfast items brought to us each morning - lots of fresh fruits and local produce. ||||I’d recommend this to anyone seeking some R&R in the Spanish countryside (I even had a foot massage during my stay from a highly qualified local therapist). We went in winter which was wonderful but we’ll be back again in the summer to enjoy the swimming pool/local village bars and restaurants and on site BBQ facilities. ||||Thank you to Peter Jan and Monica for a...
Read moreSet in a stunning spot, where the stars are wonderful to view at night! Immaculate gardens, and the cottages have been done very tastefully, both inside and out. Lovely pool with shaded areas.
It was sweltering when we visited in July, so we were very glad of the air con in the bedrooms. Beds were comfy and bathrooms generous in size. Two small gripes/suggestions for improvement were the lack of equipment in the kitchen and some slightly tired bedding.
It’s a pity our garden had a view of a large pylon, but the friendly feline visitors made up for that!
Very helpful owners, and the local town which is a short drive/25 min walk away is full of charm. Would be fab if some meals could be offered, even if just breakfast a couple of times a week.
Be warned, the driveway to the venue is extremely narrow!! Oh and the best thing - there appeared to be no mosquitos hurrah!! Would definitely recommend and am sure will...
