Let me start with the good.|The place is really well located: only 10min driving from Santiago de Compostela, yet nicely rural and relax.|There is a big parking lot in the back.|The place itself is really cozy, very clean and nicely done, with an outdoor seating to relax a bit, and spacious rooms with a nice shower!||The owner contacted us on the day of the arrival to ask when we would be there. Since we arrived a bit later, she left the keys for us.|She was really very nice and friendly. She confirmed breakfast was from 8am til 10.30am and we could check out til 12am.|All good and looking forward to it.||We went to a music festival and since breakfast was til 10.30am, we decided to get up around 9.30/9.45am ish. Quickly put change from our pijama’s and go for breakfast around 10.|Then afterwards shower, since check-out was only at noon, so we had time after breakfast still. All relax.|That was without counting on the housekeeping lady though.|We did not see the owners, it was only the housekeeping lady.|At 9am we had very hard banging on the door. It woke us brutally up, but when I opened the door, nobody there.|at 9.15am again hard knocking on the door. This time, the housekeeping was walking away so asked her …. She turned around and said we must go downstairs for breakfast.|Told her it was confirmed breakfast was til 10.30am, to which she gave me an arragont “ah si??? Hasta las 10!”|She started her vacuum cleaner (a quite loud one), in the hall way.|So we got up, annoyed, went downstairs. Noticed a German couple sitting there in their pj’s as well.|They were also rudely woken up. The poor people had just finished the Camino and were so tired…||We can understand you do not offer buffet and want to offer a nicely presented breakfast at the table, which it was.|However, like in other places we have been, you can then ask the guests upon arrival around what time they would like it.|Not having your housekeeping decide it is time to get up and go downstairs…||We asked for the fruit juice, which was really little (only 1 glass and we were 2 people) the housekeeping lady said there was no more, although you could clearly see the oranges in the kitchen.|Then she came back, she started loading the dishwasher… not sure if it was possible any louder. I am even surprised any of these dishes survived the smashing into the machine.|She clearly was trying to annoy us and working us out, it felt as if she wanted to terminate her shift faster.|We continued our breakfast, which in itself was good.|Then she started cleaning around us, with bleach water…I understand you have to clean, but that has a very strong smell, and people are eating!!| |Honestly, this place has so much potential, it is a really great place and I would come back.|I have a friend who organizes caminos as a business, and was going to recommend this place for people to relax and rest after arriving.|However, with this experience now, it all go ruined, and I would not recommend this place at all anymore, unless they do something about their housekeeping.|Really a shame… cuz it could have been amazing, and I feel bad having to leave this review but it was very rude and...
Read moreWe stayed at many country homes along our Camino Portugués route, and this place won our best vote! This stunningly beautiful property comes with large garden, fruit orchard, and a swimming pool! We booked 3 rooms, all have comfortable beds and private bathrooms with full amenities. Bed sheets, pillows, bath towels are top notch quality. We arrived quite late, the host left our room keys in an envelop on a desk with instructions. For dinner we called for pizza delivery and ate leisurely in the lovely dinningroom. We helped ourself with wine and water from the kitchen. There was no other guests around, it felt like we had the whole place to ourself! Next morning we met our host Susana at breakfast. Such a wondeful, kind, warm-hearted lady! She served us an incredible generous and delicious breakfast: cheese, meat, bread, croissant, pastries, fruits, yogurt, juice, tea, and coffee. We all wished we could stay here longer! After breakfast we left to continue our walk, Susana carefully gave us directions to get back on the nearest Camino route. She stood outside to wave goodbye. And when she saw that we made a wrong turn, she ran after us and walked with us almost half a block to the correct road. Yes, we love you Susana! Highly, highly...
Read moreAfter reading a previous review about getting kicked out early I was nervous (as this exact experience had happened to us earlier while walking the Camino de Santiago), but we did not have that experience at all! The person serving the breakfast and cleaning was quiet as a mouse, and very accommodating when my daughter wanted breakfast at a different time than me. ||The property is beautiful, and also clean and has modern amenities (the bathroom was great), there is a swimming pool, and a full shared kitchen. There aren't tvs in each room (a shared living room with one tv) but the wifi was good so we just watched some Netflix on our phones. There's an honor bar in the main kitchen fridge where you mark down what drinks you had and pay at the end. It's a little bit off the camino path but not too bad (maybe half a mile). This was the perfect stop for us, and we were able to wake up and only had to walk the last 5 miles into Santiago. I...
