Casa Clara's — Hotel in Antas

This is my first time at Casa Clara’s, and it certainty won’t be my last. Food is sublime. Chef Tremayne has an amazing tapas menu. I started with Italian sausages and potatoes. The weather was on the cold side so this went down a treat. The perfect comfort food. A mini burger (well it’s not that mini - I was expecting a slider) was perfect. And then Sambuca Gambas. Fresh prawns with a sauce which I can only describe as bread-dippingly good. No, AWESOME. And I’m from the restaurant trade, so it takes a lot to please me! Spent a lovely afternoon at Casa Clara's yesterday for tapas and drinks. Lovely venue with views across the swimming pool to the rolling hills and mountains. We chose several tapas from a comprehensive tapas menu including garlic prawns, black pudding, mushroom brushetta and patatas bravas. The food was superb, hot and good sized portions. We weren't hurried and Clare ensured a smooth service. Later on Trey the chef came out to ensure the food was good - it was superb. We arrived at casa claras without a reservation but was greeted by Claire who immediately made us feel welcome. We decided to order tapas as well as drinks and were not disappointed. The tapas were cooked freshly to order and were of a good size and reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and straight away booked in for the Valentine’s Day meal as well as a room for the night as we couldn’t fault the hospitality that both Claire and Trey showed us.
